Anybody know how to get the old stock Android browser on here? Chrome really blows. I can't seem to find any method that's universal, and those steps that are out there seem to require root. Help!
Well I guess all you would need is the apk and side load it. I use dolphin chrome was great at first but little things bother me like the double tap zoom in sucks. And the last update made it run like ****. I like my bookmarks being synced but then again it really isn't that big of a deal.Anybody know how to get the old stock Android browser on here? Make sure you set the permissions correctly. Once installed, clear data/cache on it before you run it.I still can't seem to get the stock browser to install. Tried placing the file in system/app and data/app... Installed once and I saw the browser at one point then every subsequent launch of the app was met with a "unfortunately..." Crash message. Ugh. I've been dying to get a competent browser on this phone. Guess I'll need to keep waiting.

What do you mean "set the permissions correctly"? I'm not modifying the permissions with anything, and it sets its own permissions upon installation.Make sure you set the permissions correctly. Once installed, clear data/cache on it before you run it.
Search "aosp browser installer" in the play store. It does require root however
The AOSP browser installer worked for me...Thanks, but tried that. Did it again just to see, same instant force close. :/
Thanks, this way worked for me!Search "aosp browser installer" in the play store. It does require root however
Yep, confirmed via root checker. And I did wait for a minute after boot for it to register root as jcase said that it doesn't Register su for a few seconds or something, in case you were going to ask about that. The AOSP browser installer worked for me...
