install xzdualrecovery,
flash 230 zip,
do a factory reset from recovery,
Turn off,
Flash stripped FTF

ya im using gravity box.. but from the start itself i have this problem
Try to wipe the cache and settings of 'Xperia Home' in settings -> apps on the 'all' tab...
Maybe gravity box somehow messed up your configuration... perhaps used a home modifier for a high resolution grid? (not 4x5 but 5x6?)
now its gone...i cleared the xperia home data

Flash the FULL (not the one from this topic) FTF exclude wiping DATA (this will work fine).
Download ZL XZDR Kernel 2.7.124, fastboot flash the boot.img inside /tmp inside the ZIP.
Put the zip on your external sdcard and flash it again in recovery.

This Kitkat rom works well on my c6502 locked phone but don't really like a few changes brought about in this rom. Now it's only been 2 days that I am using this but I think I'll revert back to 4.3 soon. This rom seems less smooth, though I cannot say laggy, than the previous 101 4.3 rom.

It can help to factory reset and start fresh...
On my Z it is buttery smooth... as only the casing is different between the Z and the ZL, it should be that way on the ZL as well... so apps are the only idea I can come up with... did you update them all yet?
Yes, they are up to date. Even typing is laggy right now. So when I factory reset I shouldn't restore the whole app data of user apps with Titanium Backup, right?
I'd be very selective on what to restore yes...
add/restore apps a few at a time. Then give it a few days to test how it performs.
No, that's actually a bit long... Did it finish ok in the end?
