Update to December patch - v3 released

I've been doing some extra work trying to get the Google Dialler Framework working, meaning that the Google Dialler can be installed from the Play Store. Finally found a Magisk module that works, so I've integrated that into the rom.

So, if you want to use the Google Dialler without hacking around, try out the zip here:

Full credit goes to the @TheJulianJES for their work here: https://github.com/Magisk-Modules-Repo/GoogleDialerFramework

Just a note from the module. If Play Store doesn't allow it to be downloaded at first, try clearing the data/cache for Play Store and try again.

I just updated to todays version, and also installed the extended stock kernel, as the previous version broke my FDroid also. Everything works well until I install Magisk 18.0 with TWRP, then it just sits on black Android screen at boot. Dirty flashed to get boot again, but every time I install Magisk, just sits at boot. Anyone else using the extended kernel and this rom seen this?

What order do you install? I go rom, kernel, then Magisk. And yes, I'm using extended kernel.

Yes, that's the same order. I'm using version 4 of the kernel if that makes any difference. Rom was dirty flashed, from TWRP flashable stock, if that makes any difference. Magisk was downloaded via Magisk manager, so maybe I'll look for different download as everything else with kernel and rom work great.

Motorola company ruined G5+ wifi with oreo update. It's been more than 3 months and no fix yet. Motorola is no more value for money brand. Chinese companies are doing better with updates and fixes.

I seriously miss those days when Motorola was owned by Google. No other brand could even think of competing it.

Just an FYI for everyone. Even though there is now a full TWRP flashable build for the US channel December patches (OPSS25.85-17-4) I will not be creating a new debloated build based upon it. The main reason is that these debloated builds do not include the modem / firmware updates, and in terms of system apps as most unnecessary ones are removed it is unlikely that there is anything additional or different that would warrant another release.

I'm currently on the latest stock OTA update 85-17-4. If I just installed a system uninstaller app and removed the same bloatware you listed, would this provide the same result or is it more complicated than that?

Thanks.

Good question. Yes you can remove the same bloatware I listed, but you will miss out on a few tweaks and additions that I've made.

For example, I add in F-Droid and its privileged extension, the Google dialler framework, and a few tweaks in the build.prop (e.g. enable camera 2 API). so really just depends if you want it care about any of those things. They can all be done by flashing other things, including some Magisk modules.

What is the function of F-Droid though? I saw it on this rom but couldn't figure out what it was.
