I can't get magisk to install on this ROM. ROM seem to flash fine in TWRP but when I flash Magisk, there are no errors but when I get booted into the system, magisk isn't there.

Sometimes Magisk manager just doesn't install correctly when you flash from twrp. Get the Magisk manager APK and install it separately.

Here's the latest release - February 2019 security patches.

Android File Host - potter-OPSS28.85-17-6-debloated.zip
Dropbox - potter-OPSS28.85-17-6-debloated.zip

Hit thanks to show your appreciation
Thanks man, you are massive legend!

One question, is it safe to dirty flash this latest trimmed version over previous release of full version from your other thread (Dec 2018 security patch)?

EDIT: Everything seem to be working well after dirty flash. Previously locked useless apps now can be uninstalled.

Hi. I've got OREO build no OPSS25.85-17-4 on mine from running the normal OTA updates. I'm now boot unlocked with TWRP installed. Do I still need to clean flash stock Oreo first anyway? I think not, but double checking.

Thanks!

OK, I was moving forward and pretty sure that if I have Oreo already on it, no need to install as a base for the debloated version. BUT, now that debloated is installed, I notice that startup is much slower and it now requests pin/patter to even start up android. Weird. I would have figured it would work the same, maybe faster.

I wonder .

If possible, Please remove chrome and add bromite instead.
Well, that won't be possible as removing chrome will make it impossible to sign into your Google account and thus, goodbye Google play. So, install bromite yourself.

Yes what this dude here is saying. Plus, I've tried it before, and there's a note in the second post of this thread saying it can't be done without consequences.

Hello NZedPred, I am experiencing issues with my Moto G5 Plus.

About this project

These are debloated stock roms based upon stock Oreo. These should be treated as a custom ROM that happens to be just like stock, just slimmer :)

Changes from stock
  • Removed a number of system and privileged apps to reduce the download size from 1.4GB to approx 0.9GB
  • dm-verity and forced encryption are disabled (encryption will still work if you choose)
  • A few tweaks here and there
  • Does not come with firmware (i.e. the modem partition, etc)
  • Does not erase modemst1/2 partitions (i.e. your EFS)
  • Removed boot animation (as of 85-17-2 build)

As this does not include the firmware, it should be treated like every other custom ROM out there that is based off the Oreo blobs:
  • Clean flash and boot into full stock Oreo at least once to ensure your system is fully working
  • If you have flashed someone else's persist, make sure to use TWRP flashable Soak Test 1
  • You can use the TWRP flashable builds here: Potter Oreo TWRP Flashable Builds

I recently decided to flash this flashable stock ROM on my Moto G5 Plus, but as I kept using my phone I realized that it would reboot randomly. This issue has been happening since I flashed full stock Oreo on my Moto G5 Plus. Any ideas as to what is causing this? I also would like to note that I am using SOAK TEST 1 Firmware. Any help is greatly appreciated!

I would suggest to flash a more actual version, soak test firmware is kind of outdated and maybe unstable. If that won't work try to fastboot flash a cerified full stock ROM.

Just to add to what wolfcity said, there is only one reason to use the soak test one firmware, and that is if you don't have your own intact persist (i.e. you flashed someone else's or it has been corrupted in some way).
If you have problems such as being unable to get a signal even though you have your IMEI, then that is the sign you may need the soak 1 firmware.

yes, however I am wondering if that is why I am experiencing random reboots. Everything works fine on my phone, except the fact that it reboots whenever I am using it. I have opted to go back to Nougat firmware and software to avoid this issue, but I would like to use Oreo without problem, but one major issue I do have is that I do not have my own persist.
