Is the root package correct on this post. I wanted to see something on this rom, so wiped dtux fully and reinstalled debloated and root package. Once i installed it, my phone went into a bootloop for several hours until i wiped and teinstallrd back to dtux.

I did notice that the root package was called v6 and based on dtux numbering i was expecting to see v7.

Just asking, but im back on dtux 7.1 and all is right with the world again.

@aaron74 @tx_dbs_tx

I'm not for sure but most likely CM14 would work.
And I know ,when it comes out, @tx_dbs_tx N7 port is based on pj1. Which is only 1 firmware away, so it might work.

But this file isn't gonna flash the firmware part that would be the base. You have to use the Odin file to flash the boot loader and modem.

This file is for after you update to pk1. If you want to stay stock but without all the bloat. And deodexed for easier modding.

@carlosggb what's your thoughts on this update as far as basic smoothness, battery life, network and such? Better, worse, about same? Or is it mainly security updates?
Thanks.

@aaron74 @tx_dbs_tx

No, not yet. He is polishing up his code. Shouldn't be long, hopefully.

Edit, Also if you're just wanting nouget and like aosp, you could give Emotion a try, it's on verizon thread but i heard it works on sprint.

Screen rotation not working

Hi Carlos,

I installed this ROM about a week ago and everything has been SOLID -- except for the Screen Rotation function. It stopped working yesterday for some unknown reason.

I flashed the fix you posted here using TWRP. Still no go.

It's enabled in System Settings. I do use Nova and have tried both "Default" and "Auto-Rotate" options. No luck. If I choose "Force Landscape", the screen does rotate to Landscape, so that works.

Also, I did previously freeze 40 unwanted system apps using Titanium Backup. Defrosting them and rebooting still has no effect.

Wiping Cache and Dalvik cache and rebooting didn't help. Screen Rotation simply doesn't work anymore. It's stuck in Portrait mode.

Any other suggestions? Thanks!

You probably unintentionally removed a library by uninstalling via TB, it happens. which apps you uninstalled via TB and which you froze

I Think i know what happened, give me 10min, im uploading a second file, its the same libs but the script makes them get symlinked.

EDIT: Round 2. LIBS SYMLINKED

I think we got it this time @Mr McGibblets

While you were working on Round 2, I used TWRP to restore my backup from 2 days ago. Once that was done and I was back in and all was working, (except for Screen Rotation functionality), I flashed the new SYMLINKED file and then wiped Cache + Davlik 5 times and rebooted. Phone is now stuck at main boot screen again. :(

I give up on thia one, i dont know what you did to break rotation, but whatever it was, is a tough one to find.

My humble suggestion is to dirty flash the rom (after you restore again) and then reflash viper4android

Hey, thanks for trying. I followed your suggestion and dirty re-flashed the ROM + Root. Screen Rotation is back! :D

If I find out what broke it, I will let you know.

Thanks again.

Hi, thanks for your amazing work. I have a question.

How can I get the Hotspot Mod to work on this ROM?

I tried to flash it using TWRP recovery but it doesn't seem to work. Thanks in advance.

Not sure but I remember that removing Facebook causes rotation problems... The culprit being
libgnustl_shared.so

Being removed with Titanium Backup..

This is a link to the tmob version but the info should be relevant. ..

Here is a copy of the file from stock PK1.

You can push it to System /lib with Root explorer.

Set permissions then reboot it should work..

@aaron74 , i feel battery life was great the first day, which is not easy to get on a first cycle, performance is good but havent had enough time to push it as im working with @13druber on Dtux Rom v7 so my phone is in test mode.

But it feels solid and is the safest yet too, so if security is a concern, this is the way to go, PK1

I just made the move. I'm not sure if I selected things correctly, but I'm on dtux.

Can I rerun modset whenever to make changes or do I need to redo the whole rom?

You can rerun the modset all the times you want, just take these two things in consideration:

1-If you change kernel you must leave ticked Supersu and Busybox on the last page, otherwise untick them.

2-On the first page after clicking on installation, Make sure you pick"Apps and Extra Mods" instead of "Install ModSet" when you are adding new apps, xposed modules or just changing other settings.

    ENJOY DTUX ROM!
    3
Ya, I am following that thread and have tried the earlier version of the rom. I'm a novice simple user and that rom seems complicated to me so I've stayed away from it. It looks really cool and I want to make the move but I get cold feet. Stupid, I know.
Again, thank you for this debloated room.

This Latest version is the easiest yet made by me to install, after you have a functional Stock debloated Pk1, just download the modset and follow the flow ;)
