I found the instruction I used for dealing with sahara communication errors on 1+7Pro:
In order to avoid "sahara communication failed" error, hold both volume keys until the MSMTool.exe program starts the flashing process. Yes, hold the keys with one hand and press start with the other hand in the program
This seemed to work on W10 PC with MSM Download tool, but might as well work with other EDL tools.
Maybe we can try to make .ops for MSM Download tool, there's a tool for that. That's probably a bad idea, it might apply some kind of signature

Lol. How's battery life so far? Probably way too early to ask. 😂

It's just that, my oppo find x6 pro has battery life that's just as amazing as the redmagic 8 pro, I know it has ltpo but that alone shouldn't match a 6000mah phone. The redmagic needs battery optimization. Even the s23 ultra was almost as good on battery

Plus I'm hearing the rog phone 7 is just on another level battery wise

I can't comment on any difference in the battery life since the update but overall I'm happy with the battery life so far. For my level of usage its solid for well over 24 hours so never any worry I will run out. Recharges insanely quick.

However, my previous phone was a Zenfone 6 and I must say Asus have the battery management well sorted. That thing lasted for ever, and even at over 3 years old the battery performance had not reduced noticeably. I put this down to features like you could set to stop charging at 80% or 90%, I always used 90%, and you could set to trickle charge overnight so that it would do a slow charge to be your set level at a set time, thus not stressing the battery with fast or continuous charging. These are features I believe all phone manufacturers should implement to extend battery life and I'm not expecting the Red Magic battery to be good after 3 years.

Having said that if anyone knows the API for the switching to the 'powered by charger feature' I would have a go at writing an app that would at least switch to that mode at full charge, or if possible a preselected level (I was going to start a separate thread on this!)

Other Asus battery management features were slightly less helpful, disabling or limiting app activity could make things like emails needing to be pulled rather than getting regular push notifications like I get now on the Red Magic. I guess you can't have it all :)

Long answer to a short question and probably not the right thread to include it in!

Agh as always Ota not available, wondering if it’s cause I got a eu version even though I’m in Mexico. Second you on battery life, im getting from 48 to 58 hours (depending on usage) with around 7/ 8 sot (can get more, but I use plenty usb c dac dongles for audio purposes) though i do think that using a slower charger could increase battery life in the long run, I’m using a 50w charger though i think I’ll swap to my iPads charger that’s around twenty something

Thanks for the reply. Yes Asus battery management is legendary.

Shame about redmagics update frequency, so slow! Had an update one week apart on the oppo find x6 pro. Time to try out this new redmagic update
