where did you get the china .img files?

I answered my own question; you can get the payload.bin file extracted by using this app:

Which will output all the .img files needed to get back to the chinese rom if you choose to try to flash the WW rom.

Another thing to note; the china system.img file extracted is 4.7GB. Considering the WW system.img file that was posted in this thread is only 2.7GB, I think its obviously something is missing.

When the phone is released in the united states they will post the WW firmware on the asus US website. When that happens I will give flashing over a try.

system.img from CN paylod is ext2
system.img from WW is ext4
compare vendor for exemple :
vendor.img from CN payload : 1 572 864Ko
vendor.img from WW ( ext4 ) : 902 685Ko
and same size after extracting

as it's written , WW system.img is not for flashing and we must wait for UL_WW firmware

as it's written in post 22 , take care if you want to flash part of WW firmware , because i have not a valid full CN firmware for coming back if you have a problem
so it's your own risk

i tried to update my WW firmware to WW-16.0622.1907.33 (latest one for my WW fw rog 2) but it gives me System Update Failed message.

My phone came from china with the WW.1906 rom already installed on it. Does this mean that it was already converted to global rom? Can i just update to ww.1908 without doing anything special? Any help is much appreciated. Thanks guys

hello there , iwant someone to help me i am stuck , first of all i was on CN 1908.12 then i said i want to try ww version then i followed this guide :

so i downloaded ww 1906.24 after that i updated to ww 1908.12 and i don't like it so i came back to CN firmware on same thread and i flashed CN 1906.24 it is run and i get the last update via OTA 1908.21 but now i am stuck i can't download google play and if i downloaded by getting old version it work but when i restart my device it break and it force me to make factory reset so now i want to return it to full CN Rom it still have some file of WW as i see . thanks
