I can't remember if it's possible to just unzip a zip file, delete what I don't want, and zip it up again, if it'll flash or if there's something in the update script deal that would prevent it.

I copied 11g and pulled things like 360 wallpaper out of it. If not it's no big deal but I could before and it was nice not having to go into things after the fact and delete or uninstall stuff.

I actually would have had 20d uploaded a few days ago but I've been having connection issues. should have it up today

as for removing apps from the OS, im not sure it's as straight forward as just removing the app from the package.

what I can do is create some debloated sysboot roms and remove all of the unnecessary apps. be default, this would just be t mobile apps and some unnecessary google apps, but I can work on a custom debloat for 11g and 20a/d depending on which people will use more. I can remove all the apps I think are not necessary from the build, if you have any requests feel free to post them

Dang I was hoping that would work no sense in you killing yourself over it though. Was wondering about the 20d thing. I took a peek over at your files on sourceforge & noticed them. Looked really small in size and didn't want to say anything here and have people pulling stuff before time.

Something I noticed (still running your 11g) my wifi Hotspot is not wanting to work. I don't even get that validating account deal when you turn it on. Could just be something I did since the physical tether still works just thought I'd mention it just in case.

As for me, taking pointless apps out would be cool. Shoot, you could pull lg email as an example (I personally use the Gmail app so don't see the point in having two) and I'd be cool with that. But then there's that debloater script in magisk that does pretty well at taking care of it. (tb just doesn't seem to want to do it for some reason)

I almost want to say that if it could be aosp but with stock abilities such as assistant, stock camera and fingerprint working I'd be cool with it.

But, if I could pull them there wouldn't be any need for you to do more than you did with 11g. I appreciate your work and don't want to ask you to do anything unnecessary.

Truth is it kinda sucks because I love the customization of aex except for the camera, assistant, and fp deal. (I know we got fp figured out just saying)

I did notice though that whatever you did with 11g allows me to use Google pay without jumping through a bunch of hoops just a normal set up.

I'd use the 20d if I could steer clear of those weird issues. I pulled that other 20d zip but haven't tried installing it. At this point I'm trusting your work more than anybody else because it works like it should.

I know I can go all over the place sometimes but I hope that made sense to you.

lol good thing you didnt download those files before I posted them on here. they would have failed.

It wouldnt be that big a deal. I use tools to help me make the sysboot roms and it's not hard to debloat them. I can do it this weekend as i should have some free time.

Im not sure why the rom would affect the mobile hot-spot, unless deodexing is causing that problem. Interesting...

Anyways, the 20d files are now up and available.

If you are coming from my 11g and your TWRP is not asking for a password/you are able to mount system, you technically should be able to flash the bootloader and sysboot w/Root.

Either way, you should NOT have to format data if you are already on the 11g rooted sysboot rom. so you should be able to keep all your data. (I hope)

Ok so I was getting ready to flash those two files and came back to look at this post.

Your talking formatting data as in the encryption portion of things correct?

I'd still wipe system(didn't always have to do this the flash would deal with it but with this I thought it would be a good idea) , Delvic (always goof that up),
data, and cache.

I know I used to get away with just hitting the format default in twrp: data, cache, and dalvik then flashing what I needed.

Hope I'm not being paranoid, I'm thinking of it as thoughtfully concerned.

I did the quick format (swipe deal in recovery)
Then flashed the 20d boatloader and the sysboot_mroot zips. Rebooted a couple of times at start but so far runs fine.
I don't have fp though or the Wi-Fi hotspot. Should I have flashed full stock in there somewhere?

Had it on 11g just fine. I haven't dug into it more than to mention it.
I was wondering if it could be like aex and that fp deal except maybe the 20a bootloader? Idk, just woke up with a headache so I'm not stressing it right now. I'm tempted to wipe everything system included then flash the full stock file and see what I get.
The option for it doesn't even show up in settings

Cool, ya I commented on that post there post here thing to your first reply. In your other thread. Debloated would be cool. I've pulled allot out of the stock after flash but I know I'm leaving stuff behind that could come out also.
Do I really need collage wallpapers? Please... maybe if I were a chic or into that type of thing. Don't kill yourself. But I'd be lieing if I wasn't curious how much you pull out of there. And if my method of using a 3rd party deal leaves anything behind.

very welcome. if you flash the bootloader only it will leave whatever laf you have untouched, and yes fingerprint scanner will work with custom ROMs like AOSP Extended.

However, I have not tested running stock 20a with the 11g bootloader. But it doesn't sound like that's what you are wanting to do

if you have already flashed a custom Rom and FP doesn't work, simply flashing the 11g bootloader zip will fix it. it is not necessary to reflash the rom

also, not sure why anybody would want to, but 11g bootloader with stock 20a rom will not work. it will hang on the boot logo indefinitely which can be dangerous for your phone. so please make sure you are using a custom Rom or stock 11g with this bootloader

It will on aex that I know for sure. Lineage I couldn't say because I've not used it. But, hypothetically I would say yes

Setting has force close after flash this. I wipe all, flash full stock, flash sysboot mroot then wipe dalvik cache. But fc setting after reboot.
How to solve this
