Stock Hotspot working with no plan

So I just got my S7 today and was curious to see what would happen if i enabled wifi hotspot in the settings. I was able to connect a device and browse without having a hotspot plan. Can anyone else do this? My S5 would prompt me and automatically turn it off when i would try it (without root). Hmmmm

Check your sprint a/c and make sure there are no charges before consuming up a large amount data. On the iphone it actually warns me of such surcharge prior to activating.

I just checked my account and don't see any usage for hotspot, but I will be sure to report back once I receive my bill. Hopefully by then, I (and all of us) will have root anyway.

same here...no promt to turn wifi off..but on lte it it did say im not subscribed
