I followed this guide using D6503 files in the links, the first part flashing to 4.4.2 works ok, baseband intact, but once I flash to 5.0.2 once again the phone is rooted, but have lost baseband/imei??

Have you followed all the steps? The final 726 ttf flashing?
Hi, I followed all steps exact, had no errors, even did the whole process again.

According to guide on the final .726 flashing I preserve PARTITION, TA & SYSTEM, I assume preserving BASEBAND wouldn't help my situation?

What are we going to do?
1. We need to downgrade your firmware to the rootable one (17.1.2.A.0.314).
2. Then root it and, install dual recovery
3. Then flash the latest 23.1.A.0.726 zip file, which is pre rooted. <=====
4. For the safer side, i didn't include the kernel with the zip. So, we have to flash the ftf for the kernel
5. That's all!!

You can start from 3rd step.. No need to goto .314 and root again..

You can try.. Nothing goes wrong.. Whatever happens, you recover your device.. Your problem seems weird.. Try man, that's only can teach us something, we don't know..

Thanks to this guide, I was able to root my Xperia Z2 and still be on Lollipop firmware. I have just backed up my current setup on the device and no MicroSD was inserted, where is the CWM backup location? I can't find it.

Many thanks

In the device? You mean internal memory? If you have formatted it means, probably you may have lost it.

I did everything you said but i lost recovery... In 690 i ve got it but i want to do a clean install. So i lost recovery. I think it lost after i flashed kernel. Recovery not important but I use viper4 codecs so i dont have busybox

Same here bro. Did you find another solution for busy-box. Mine is not installing.
i followed the steps to the letter but lost recovery. Then I tried to install recovery separately via install. bat file as someone suggested in an earlier post but it didn't work either.
Now i am looking for another working recovery :p

Finally got it working with 2.8.14

Same thing happened to me.. But now i successfuly installed the latest nuts recovery. just dowload the latest nuts recovery for z2 and open the supersu and delete the adb shell in the apps, and try to reinstall the nuts recovery again via .bat file.. If it fails, then try it again till it become successful.
