Tried flashing via TWRP. Followed instructions (Flash COMPLETE zip, flash magisk, then mount system and delete the /system/recovery-from-boot.p file.) On first reboot, had a black screen with a row of static like pixels across the bottom, T-Mobile screen appears then it finishes booting, after about 3 seconds it boot loops to the T-Mobile screen. Sometimes a "finishing Android update" notification appears for a second, but then reboots. Hard reboot shows a black screen first, then goes on bootlooping.

Cannot boot into TWRP or any recovery. Can boot into safe mode, but still goes into bootloop.

edit: choosing factory reset loads up TWRP for me for some reason.

flashed this successfully, however, GPS doesn't work for me at all now. Can't get a fix on any satellites. I'm aware of the G5 GPS issues. I've fixed it before and prior to flashing I was able to get a GPS signal. Doesn't work for me at all now. Anyone else have GPS issues after flashing?

Hi,

Has anyone tried with TWRP version 3.2.0.0 to flash LG-H83030c.ARB01.TMO.US.COMPLETE.FLASHABLE.zip and Magisk-v18.1.zip? Will dirty flash work?

My current OS is 7.0 20K.

Thanks

How did you choose factory reset?

Found out that the key combo for booting into recovery is VOL UP + POWER, release POWER at LG screen, press and hold POWER again. This got me to the stock recovery screen. Choosing Factory reset went to TWRP

If i am on 20a and rooted with twrp, can i flash this oreo zip over that?

My understanding is flash 20a, root, install twrp, wipe data, install magisk from twrp, reboot into 20a to check if magisk is installed. Then back to twrp, flash 30c & magisk again then reboot.

Two questions:
1) Should i "wipe" rather than "format" data to decrypt?

2) should i also install twrp after magisk (30c) to make sure i dont lose it? (Original post directions for "rooted stock" dont mention installing twrp again, seems to say that magisk install will save it).

Someone also mentioned using twrp older than v3.3 (3.23 i think)

Just want to make sure i do this right.

First of all, thank you for this rom.

I have a newbie-ish question. Currently I have a custom rom installed. But if I flash this stock rom and then flash magisk, will I still be able to easily flash custom roms in the future? I ask this because this is a stock rom, so I wonder if it will change something internally that will prevent me from easily flashing another custom rom in the future. Thanks.

Am I in the right place.I have T-Mobile LG G5 running lasted Android Oreo stock Rom and I want to root so I can make earpiece as a second speaker.I want all stock apps back to and to be able to run AT&T TV NOW and Netflix on root.
Where do I even begin.

Sent from my LG-H830 using XDA-Developers Legacy app

Flashing Magicsk or deleting /system/recovery-from-boot.p no longer preserves Custom Recovery. I can confirm this as others have mentioned the same. But I remember it working in the past.
Also, SafetyNet checks no longer pass.

Edit : Fixed. Due to the way new Magicsk operates some additional steps are necessary.
