Is there an OTA for xt1640 ? What version is it ?
It's MPJ24.139-50.
Got it yesterday afternoon and the system really feels snappier and faster.

Check the post below. There's a working torrent in the youtube link described.
I am not sure if it's the correct version, please try to make sure before commiting changes.

Nice.
Quick question, did any of you on XT-1640 manage to safely root your phone?
You know, without losing wi-fi, data etc.? Which method did you use.
I did, got no problems so far. But you will lose all data when unlocking the bootloader, if its already unlocked then rooting isn't going to wipe your data. I also installed xposed and got no problems with it

Cool! Do you think this is the best guide to follow?
I really cannot afford to have a bricked or semi-working phone...
Thanks for the tip!

Moto g4 Plus stuck at bootloader

Hi,

My Moto G4 plus is now stuck at bootloader. Below are the details of errors that I get

Recovery Mode - Failed to validate recovery image
Start the phone - Failed to validate boot image
Flash stock ROM via ADB - Pre flash validation failed
Flash stock boot.img - Image boot failed validation (Security version Downgare)

I am not even able to unlock the bootloader as the adb returns a message saying I need to toggle 'Allow OEM Unlock" in the Developers Menu. I connot do that as I cannot boot my phone.

Please help.

Looks like your trying to downgrade firmware there and from what I'm aware you can't downgrade certain sections like bootloader etc. What is it you're trying to achieve?

I was just trying to flash the stock rom. Had some glitches in my phone. While I was trying to flash via adb, couple of steps failed and then I was not able to boot my phone back.

Im sure that I'm using the latest version of ROM. However, it's the one before the latest security patch. However, the boot image and recovery image should remain the same.

Here's the version that I'm trying to flash.
XT1641-XT1643_6.0.1_MPJ24.139-13.1_cid50_subsidy-DEFAULT_CFC

No matter what I do now, I just cannot get my phone to boot in recovery mode or just boot normally.
