Was wondering .. is it mandatory to use the USB 3.0 outta the box cord with our device when flashing with odin? Or are we good as long as Odin recognizes our device. .. and a huge "THANK YOU" micmars

Thanks @micmars. Is it best to flash this first before flashing another NC5 rom to get all the firmware updated or could I go straight to another NC5 rom. Im already on NABD
Look at this like taking the OTA, you should Odin this first to get your modem, baseband, and other firmware up to date. Then your phone will be ready for the NC5 ROMS without issue.

Since this is an Odin Tar, I would have to say yes. Just follow the instructions in the OP and you should be fine. Nice to see @micmars as the OP, why not, he's everywhere!
Thanks for your kind words, and for helping out with questions (I really wish I could get more time on the forums during the day and have my boss paying for it, such joy).

It's actually my first thread. Odd, that.

You Can...

Do you root this the same way as nab with cfroot?
Sure, you could do it that way.

Also, you can flash recovery from Odin, back up, then inject root from TWRP or PhilZ CWM. That would be one of many ways to inject root.

Let me know if you would like links to the files you wish to use.

Look at you go, doin' your parents proud! Running your first thread like a champ! I tried to thank you, but apparently I blew my load of 'em this morning. Not 5 minutes after I posted it was day off did I get called in for an emergency, that's what I get for bragging.
