Simple. Stock rom, zipaligned and rooted. Will add some goodies later.

Note: Devs ARE FREE to use this as a base to update their roms. No need to ask. No need to PM. Nothing. I don't even really care if you give credit or not since it's just a stock rom. Have fun :good:

  • MODS
  • MJA Stock Kernel w/ init.d and bootanimation.zip support: Temporarily removed
    - Enables bootanimation.zip support instead of using Samsung's default *.qmg files. Includes a a Nexus bootanimation.zip so you can know if it worked. Also enables support for running /system/etc/init.d scripts at boot.
[SIZE=+1]Credits[/SIZE]
  • dsixda - Android Kitchen
  • @ram9200 - for posting the 4.3 system dump. Couldn't have done this without you taking the time to do this, thanks dude :good:
  • @kevinsturf - for posting the OTA.zip from which I pulled the boot.img
  • kevinrocksman - 4.3 bootanimation binary with bootanimation.zip support
  • Sprint
  • Samsung
  • Google
[SIZE=+1] HUGE HUGE NOTE. THIS DOES NOT INCLUDE THE 4.3 FIRMWARE. THAT WILL NEED TO BE PULLED FROM A 4.3 OTA'ED DEVICE AS SAMSUNG DECIDED TO PATCH THE MODEM INSTEAD OF PACKAGING THE ENTIRE THING.[/SIZE]

Sorry I'm not very smart with the rooted version can this be flashed with twrp recovery and will this still trip the Knox 0x1

Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk 4
Yes, this is a full, flashable rom. As for Knox, this does not include the new firmware so there is no Knox to be tripped once you flash this.

Even if you ARE on the new firmware though, you have already tripped your Knox flag to 0x1 just by flashing a custom recovery, so flashing this rom will be an after-the-fact matter anyway.

Thank you so much, Once you pull the firmware from an OTA device, would it be a just firmware patch flash, or would it be integrated in the rom and have to reflash the rom? Coming from HTC and we were able to just flash firmware separated from rom. Don't want to assume it's the same for samsung. Thanks again

Unfortunately we cant get firmware flashable right now its a patch update so theres no way get a flashable firmware without having to change the boot chain buddy ill give it a month or 2 and we will have a flashable firmware to use but its all in the rom as of right now

I'm sure someone will come up with the flashable for that soon. When they do, it will just be the firmware, not an entire rom since they are independent of one another.

We CAN make a firmware flashable, it will just be more tedious than pulling from the OTA.zip like before. The firmware partitions from a 4.3 OTA'ED device will need to be pulled using su and dd like so:

Code:
su
dd if=/dev/block/<firmwarePartition1> of=/sdcard/firmware1.img
dd if=/dev/block/<firmwarePartition2> of=/sdcard/firmware2.img
...
And so on for the rest of the firmware
Because once the OTA'ED device boots up again, it will have the patched firmware, so we can just grab it from there and make a flashable. Just one more step really since they decided to patch instead of updating.

I just tried to install on a clean wipe on twrp 2.5.0.2 and i got a failed install. MD5 checks out. Just made sure and its a match with the zip on my phone with the MD5 on Android File Host. IDK what's up. I will try with a different recovery and see if that helps.

Could you post the recovery.log? It's in /tmp/recovery.log

I think I probably know what the issue is though if it's failing
