I am on rooted with twrp installed. If i get it correctly, all i need to do is download the zip file in first post (v3.4) and install it using twrp and i am done? Do i need to do any other steps.

I see v21 is non prime version. But can someone let me know the big difference between prime and non prime as v3.4 has already the ads stripped.

Help greatly appreciated as i wanted to use this phone as daily driver without root.
If you have twrp, it is assumed you have bootloader unlocked, so no other steps should be needed. Of cource I suggest doing a wipe to prevent any possible conflicts.

v8.4 and v21 are practicly the same because the v8.3 had ads removed. But some have made statements to different exposed mods that work on v21 and not on v8.4. Since you do not want root I think that will not matter.

Been running your "modified" v8.4 for about 2 months now with zero issues ... had 1 or 2 reboot issues with other Apps running, not a big deal as it is smooth & stable otherwise. No Amazon apps popping up whatsoever, rooted with Chainfire's latest V2.82 SR3 (and, Busybox v 1.26.2 installed to /su/xbin.)

Xposed Installer & Gravity Box running for those lockscreen & statusbar tweaks, and Viper4Android FX for sound enhancement and of course, AdAway. Still looking & waiting to see if I get the OTA prompt to download & install the latest v8.5 Rom update ... nothing yet. Use mainly as a backup smartphone, Freedompop 4G LTE (AT&T) sim in slot 1 and Google's Project Fi data-only LTE sim in slot 2 - it's mostly WiFi connected.

Postscript - Caution: if you are using mSD card (i.e. for external storage) it's best to power down, remove & set it aside, then, proceed with update as it will otherwise likely corrupt the files on the mSD card, resulting in a prompt to reformat the mSD card as being "error, unreadable, etc. etc." Once it is updated & running smooth & stable, re-insert the mSD card & power up/reboot again. In other words, be sure you backup anything & everything that is important on the device first.

Yes bootloaer unlocked. Great. Thanks. I will do a system wipe and then install this v8.4. Facing lag issues and network issues on 3g in India.(it constantly switches between 3g and 2g in some areas where there is perfect network signal). Hope network issue get resolved with this.

T-Mobile Wi-fi calling.

Did anyone try T-Mobile Wi-fi calling with V21 ROM? I am not able to find any Wifi-Calling settings in this ROM
I flashed immediately after getting the phone so I am not sure whether it worked with the Stock Prime ROM.

Does anyone face issues with mobile data, at least in India.(hope someone is using it in India). My mobile data switches between 2g and 3g very frequently while moving. I am sure there is 3g network to the places I go and confirmed on other phones. Any network settings reset or band change would work?

Thnks! All I wanted is to remove fhe Amazon bloatware but if it means installing a ROM so be it :) quick question k am on version 6.0 this will be fine right?
Your looking at the wrong version number. They all are android v6.0.

Look at about phone in setting menu. Scroll to bottom and look at build number.

You will need twrp recovery to install these, and you will need to have bootloader unlocked to install twrp., to unlock bootloader the trick is t use the "dirty cow" method.

that part is all wrapped into the unlock tool.

I'm sorry but the dirty cow method was a failure. I was not abe to follow those simple yet complicated instructions. And you said it was a tool but forgot to mention the (s) part as it wasn't an all in one newb friendly tool it was multiple batch files. I just want my dang Blu 1 HD without all the Amazon ****! :crying:

It was converted from that OLD multiple batch method into one combined tool.

lets start with details.

1. what version of the tool?
2. what version of os on pc?
3. what version of built on phone?
4. where on pc did you un-zip the tool to?(needs to be a location with write acces, so not in program folder or directly on root of C )

5. you said the long manual 5 batch script method failed. Do you have any details or feedback. It might help.

basics
1. phone must be connected and powered on in normal mode to start script
2. debugging must be enabled.
3. should test adb and fastboot drivers before running tool.
4. when done right the whole process from start to finish should be less than 5 minutes

sorry to inform you . but it will be irrelivent to continue. The dirty cow exploit does not work on your build version.
In build V 8.3 and above they patched the kernel exploit that allowed dirty cow to work.

It involves adb and the code "pm disable"

I do not have that version to check with , but should work

you would need to get a list of apps. then "pm dissable" all the ones you want to hide

this is general guide to do what you want. Not specific to this device so you need to do some work to determine what to disable/ uninstal
