first page, third line may be?What is the source of the LA3 please?
I am not blind. I mean where did they get it. It is so incredibly new...first page, third line may be?![]()
I reflashed it but still getting same error which cant been since it reboots very fast..
Well, to be blunt: it seems to (more or lessI have the same problem and I have tried on three different mobiles. All give the same problem as RAJESH.
So you flashed to a completely stock LA3? Without root, without anything? Just to check if the file is ok? And then flashed back to some older version, rooted and now you're trying to update from there to LA3? Is that correct?Downloaded file is not corrupted because I can use the same file when flashing with PC odin and it is a success
You used MobileODIN to flash, correct? Or, second possibility, you didnt put the "modem" file in /sdcard/external_sd/firmware. Or, thrid possibility: somethings really borked with what you did or what you have, because...(...) but baseband still shows KK5. Is there something wrong?
...this definitely shouldn't happen. Something went wrong while or before finishing the flash of the CSC. I feel confirmed by this, which is a CSC issue:...it goes to cwm and says successfully applied csc dbt and then says reboot.
Recommendation: forget what you did, flash back to any (older) stock firmware with ODIN (on PC, via USB). Then root that. Then reapply the update to LA3.I had the null issue
Or, fourth option: you are misunderstanding things. Because both apps, MobileODIN as well as CWM have a string clearly stating "Kernel". I would do as recommended above. Flash to stock and start from scratch. It doesn't give me the option to flash kernel.
Since main Android development on Gingerbread basically came to a halt, there's very little difference between the releases. I dare to say, they are practically identical. So it doesn't really matter what kernel you use, it could be anyone available since the public release of the Note. Ok, maybe not a 2.3.5 kernel, but any 2.3.6 based kernel available.if i update using the CWM Manager and use the LA3 kernel with the pre-root function, will i have a rooted LA3 kernel and ROM until CF comes up with the flashable LA3 kernel?
Poor you. I did the same 1.5 months ago. It's just that I was on HTC Androids since 2008. I had really hard 1.5 months till todayI have just moved to samsung from having an HTC Desire Z for some time...
That's the sales region the device was intended for. It has an influence on the settings and (in case of branded devices) custom apps the device comes preloaded with. And that's it already. No other implications. Software is totally - by losing original warranty of course - interchangeable.this phone (...) is a XXKK5.
See above, including all consequences.how does this effect which ROMs I can install?
To be a little more precise: if you want to hand your device in for warranty reasons, it should be loaded with a ROM which corresponds to it's original sales region. But stock as in a piece of unaltered software coming from Samsung: you can load it with whatever you like. All ROMs made for any GT-N7000 are usable on all GT-N7000. It does look different with Korean and later possibly US devices. But strictly speaking, they only share the case with "our" GT-N7000, inside they are completely different devices. Kinda like DesireZ and G2, but not quite, since the differences between those two were rather minor while Korean and "global" Notes do differ significantly: a different board and chipset. So basically different in any aspect possible...if I want to install a STOCK ROM, I need to install the correct version as per front page.
See above, and then above above. If I want to install a 3rd party dev ROM, are they all compatible? or do some ROMs only work with certain models of the SGN??![]()
Don't be. It's all still very easy. Everything published until now is fully compatible with your device. Don't let the Korean and US Notes confuse you: I've seen 1 (one) Korean guy asking for information regarding his Note, so the Koreans are not here. And the US devices are not yet released. So, as I said: everything you'll find on xda until the present day is fully compatible with your device.I am confused!
I probably have the same device as you, mine came preloaded as XXKK5. My exact model was indended for the AUT (Switzerland) sales region. I'm running a XEU - UK sales region - ROM right now. No problemo. But as you should know already coming from an Android device: Android is multi-locale, the language of the user interface is not decided by the country you live in, it's freely chosable by the user. And English you'll find in every ROM out there, updating to newer software is rather a problem for the more exotic languages as, for example, Portuguese, which isn't included worldwide on any release, as for example, Enlishcan i install a STOCK ROM from another country (UK) over my one so I can have English as the default from install?
Used Google. Took me 4 seconds to find and about 40 more to evaluate the list if applicable to the Note: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1069924Hi doc did you know were I can find a list of the bloatware i can delet from this roms![]()
you are a genius. it worked and my phone is restored to factory stock rom. thanks a bunch. I was stuck in a boot loop but now its all fine. That was correct. But boot into recovery after the flash (Vol Up+Home+Power) and select the option to factory reset/full wipe all user data. This should do.
If you are rooted, Titanium Backup is best. Can backup App + System settingcan we back up apps? hwz that done?
If you have flashed with PC Odin, then it wont have Root anymore.Hi doc,
Not sure where i got wrong but today I try to flash LA3 using CWM but failed due to md5 mismatch..
Then i try to flash using odin and it is succesfully flashed..the problem i just not sure whther the root intact or not?anyway i can use root explorer and install back my apps using mybackup pro..
So how can know it is rooted and how can i get back cf root with cwm?
Tq
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda premium
Well, to be blunt: it seems to (more or less) work for everyone else in here. It must be something quite specific to you two. Escpecially if you tried with several devices. It's either your equippment, your technique or somethings really different from everyone else in here. Let's see if we can find out.
So you flashed to a completely stock LA3? Without root, without anything? Just to check if the file is ok? And then flashed back to some older version, rooted and now you're trying to update from there to LA3? Is that correct?

Correct: I flashed the stock things just to check.
I tried two methods:
1- CWM method: Failure as it aborts the installation very quickly after starting firmware upgrade process
2- Mobile odin pro: error draw1. jpg failed.
I am able to root older roms though using zerg push or by flashing the factory tar file mentioned by chain fire in his basic posts.
Only problem is in upgrading. I have tried la2, and even kL8 firmwares. but all give the same failure.
I am thinking about making a movie and uploading on youtube to diagnose what is going wrong.
tried all this using usb debugging enabled and then disabled both ways.
please suggest usb debugging should be enabled or not.
And didn't touch mock locations though.
OK I have flashed to KK9 using odin and able to root+CWM..than try back to flash LA3 using both methodIf you have flashed with PC Odin, then it wont have Root anymore.
You can see functioning Superuser application, if it having root.
You can use My backup Pro to restore application, but with limited set of function(Non Root). You can't Root it directly, You have to downgrade it to earlier Rootable version first.
