Hi ... I need urgent help ... I got back my note from Sammy service after the ICS RR 1.5 and angelom kernel fiasco .... The firmware version put by service centre was DDLA5 ... I downloaded N7000XXKL3_N7000ODDKL1_N7000DDKL1 to downgrade for rooting and flashed it through pc odin ... but its getting stuck at factory.ffs and then shows failed? ... Ive tried 4-5 times but same result ... Even tried flashing N7000DDLA5_N7000ODDLA1_N7000DDLA2 but with same result ..... Now, phone doesnt restart and when connected for charging it shows error message and says try in recovery mode with kies? .... I am seriously frustrated and dont want to go back to service centre .... Any help will be highly appreciated .... Thanks, Envy

unable to flash from LB2 to KK1

I had Midnote 2.0 ICS. It was working fine.

I wanted to try a different GB ROM, based on LB2, so using PC Odin I flashed from Midnote to Stock LB2 ROM (downloaded from here).

But when I tried to root - I failed

so I wanted to go to a pre zergrush fix ROM (I chose KK1 -also downloaded from here); after downloading it, I tried to flash it using Odin PC.

When I try flashing KK1, after loading the three files (modem, CSC, PDA) and then hitting the "start" button -PC Odin does not respond -and my phone doesn't either.

I'm currently running an unrooted LB2, but I'd like to resptore some stuff I backed up with Ti Backup, plus I like using CF-CWM to do my flashing, so I need to root.

Is the problem because LB2 is 2.3.6 and KK1 is 2.3.5?

I am agree with schaggo theory, it could be the updated bootloader is the cause.
This is the one thing you can try with, flash bootloader first, then try to update with usual ROM. check phone bootloader update in odin n select same ROM file to point to bootloader box.
This is mere speculation, you can try if you feel it right. I recommend advise from schaggo regarding this too.

likely error on PC side rather thn device. b'coz it is not even started.
confirm you have driver installed, firewall closed, kies/any other PC sync not running, close anti virus
if possible, try other machine

I somehow get the feeling I'm reading this more and more often. Did they maybe upgrade the bootloader recently to prevent downgrades? My gut says devices being bought with a more recent firmware, coming back from service or may even devices having been updated "officially" using kies and/or OTA (not the CWM/MobileODIN way) are affected. This is all wild speculation though...

I agree to your theory, but there are some points that not let it digest.
1.I have seen a case, whose ROM was updated to LB2 by service center, but that guy was succeed to downgrade.
2.Who have updated ROM to latest DDLB2 with Kies/OTA, still able to downgrade.
So this problem i found is strongly related to ICS leak ROM n Angelom kernel fiasco.
though service center have successfully revive device, but not 100%, b'coz in all cases there was bad sector (non recovering) appeared, so i think it was running after service center repair, but might have few bad sector still.
I expect few words regarding this from your side, as i was already planning to discuss this matter with you.

Thanks Dr ... I was advised another shortcut which worked ... I flashed the zimage.tar of abyss kernel 3.4 directly through pc odin and rebooted into recovery ... From there all wipes followed by rocket rom 22 backup restored followed again by cache and dalvik wipe .... Rebooted into RR22 perfectly .... Dont know how this fits into your 'bootloader' theory? ... The only irritant is yellow triangle .... any way to get rid of it (dont know if I'll get a jig in delhi!) ... See i don't think yellow triangle is urgent issue.
once you get ICS official released (I assume, you won't try ICS leak now)
then there is application made by CF, triangle away, you can remove triangle n reset counter easily.
but it is not advisable to do any modding even with JIG right now isn't?
and i was also not completely agree to booloader theory, you can see few post above this, same thing i wrote to schaggo too. But anyway, still nothing particular thing fits to explain all these.

Now place CF root kernel to your Int/Ext memory, N flash with Mobile Odin Pro

Tip: Just to note that, who have to use root for application purpose e.g.Root explorer, titanium backup etc, they shud select 'I want just Root' option. these all application will work, as well stock recovery also will work like reset, wipe cache partition, wipe data
You shud only apply CWM, if really you are need to backup/restore firmware, regularly updating ROM, using ChainFire application(which need CF root)

- run already rooted
- confirm USB debuging n unknown source enable on device
- connect device
- press any key to run script
It shud b finish in 5 sec, n you shud have CWM

hey, i downgraded my rom from JPLA1 to JPKK1 and i rooted and installed cwm successfully.
then i tried to upgrade to stock JPLA1 using odin mobile, or cwm and i entered into a bootloop. and i was unable to proceed. where did i go wrong?

hi .i am also trying to downgrade my rom from JPLA1 to KKLA1 (the one u had).but my odin on PC got stuck in SETUP CONNECTION.Tried several times but no luck.Kies connects properly though.will u plz help me out ? ..thanx in advance.

Check you have installed driver properly

turned off antivirus, reinstalled kies but still Oden on PC got stuck in Connection Setup.It might be worth mentioning here that im using Windows 7 64 bit.still need help !
