Installation note : How to update from GB ROM to ICS

WARNING : Please ppl w8 sometime, CF said he reported some hardbricking I/O bug in CF root LPY, thogh only small ppl affected, I advise to w8 before flashing CF root kernel LPY.
There is no reported harm to flash ics without cf root(stock kernel + root no cwm)

Install using Mobile Odin safely
- Download N extract ROM
- Copy Extracted file to a folder e.g ICS ROM On Ext/Int SD card
- Download CF Root for LPY
- Extract CF root till get zImage file
- Copy zImage file to same above said folder in SD car
- Open Mobile Odin
- Select 'Open file' N point to ROM file
- select Kernel tab N point to zImage file
- select Ever Root option
- Flash
- You will get ICS ROM + Root + CWM

Note After flsing finish, it will optimize installed application for ICS, then will auto restart
I have experienced Applicatioin installer crash first time, Then i have restarted device
Then again application Installation happened N worked Normally
Titanium Backup, checked. I have restore one old app N worked without issue.

Edit :
Had hard reset device from setting - backup N reset
Wipes cache partition from recovery
Reinstalled app from TB, without any issue
Though some have reported, I don't find any issue with wifi, GPS, Titanium backup/restore, wipe cache, hard reset. everything remained smooth.
Opera browser carshed when restore with data, just removed data N works fine. wave launcher 1.8.0 was crashing, but resolve once updated to latest 1.8.1
Google Map ownhere mod have issue initially, but went fine once reinstall.
No more issue i have noted.

My sales code changed to KOR, but still no issue in reading local language (I can read indian language)

Note : If you have i9220 bootloader, dont use pc odin, mobile odin will work. There is no way to remove bootloader till now .Chaifire have brick his device due to this. AFAIK i9220 repack LP5 only have this bootloader

Installs triangle away apple n reset counter
Note: I have read triangle away works fine, I have not tried myself

ive done this but i did the kernel separately... the same result...
avoided wiping the device... if i get errors, i will then wipe the device...

customize, update apps and exploring at the moment...

I downloaded the update via checkfus and installed it via Mobile Odin. Everything works OK, still root after update finished. It it not a wipe rom.

You downloaded with checkfus? How? I can only check but can't download.

Hi, maybe you can help me.. I have an issue with cahngeing teh dpi. after cahngeing it to 240 from 320 my device wont boot up it hang at the n7000 text.. why is this?

Thanks to dr.ketan for the guide!

However, I followed the guide and I am bricked - upon bootup, it gets past the N7000 animation, but then stays at the pulsing "samsung" logo forever. I have waited many minutes. After waiting over 15 minutes, I tried a battery pull - same result.

I have never been on an ICS ROM before, I was coming from GB Rocket ROM v23.

I'm sure I've missed something I was supposed to do :-(

It seemes that I had luck!

I updated with Mobile Odin and just injected Everroot, SU & Odin and it worked, even with all apps and configs, no wipe! Did not check CWM so far4... just playing first time with device
