I'm really sad. Very sad. Almost ready to mourn. Moments ago I disconnected the USB cable and the internal memory has damaged.
S**t - f**c
Don't work back to stock with ODIN (i897uckk4 Odin One Click CONTAINS Bootloaders, Re-partition, Full Wipe).

Hi I was just wondering if these One-Click packages come with all the necessary files to restore your phone after a soft brick. By that I mean that they include the kernel, bootloader, the firmware itself, and the .pit file to repartition the internal sd (basically every single file the phone needs). The reason I am asking this is because I used the I897UCKF1 One-Click to go back to stock in order to repartition my phone and that is what led to the brick in the first place and now its just stuck in a white at&t screen bootloop. That being said, is there another thread that has all these files to download individually so that I can choose which ones to use myself? I just feel safer doing it manually from now on using the full odin rather than the one clicks.

P.S. Still waiting on a jig from amazon to get my phone into download mode because after the soft brick none of the button combinations will work. Ive literally tried them all.

Nice. Thanks for the quick response and the files. Now I just have to wait for the jig and i'll tell you if it works. BTW, I already have Odin 3 but it wont hurt to include it:)

Hi, I have a Samsung Galaxy S Captivate (I897) with broken internal memory (only download mode will work).
Could anyone tell me how to make a flashable with ODIN using a modified ROM, a zip file that is used from the recovery?
I could load i897uckk4 with Odin One Click, but... I don't like Stock ROMs.
Can't use [9001][CWM] The making of ... an ODIN package with CWM [2012-05-17] XXKQE added

Thank you.

Disclaimer: I am not responsible for loss, damages or any other kind of issue that can arise from flashing any of these packages. FYI: All these packages are tested by me on my device.

PS: Most of OneClick are rar packages, you have to unpack them in order to get Odin One Click Downloader. Stock Kernels are tar packages, Odin flashable.

Not sure if this is what you were specifically asking about, but check this thread out... How to make an Odin flashable ROM and this post also.

Hi...

I need to take my wife's phone back to stock GB in order to restore her messed up EMEI... I just realized that her EMEI was messed up. Come to think of it, I had ATT lock her phone a couple times about a month ago be flagging it as stolen. I called them and the phone works fine. But since I realized this is what is causing the flags with ATT, I would like to fix it.

I have done a lot ot flashing of roms... but still kind of confused. Maybe someone can answer me and I hope I am not asking a real basic question. If I am, please forgive me...

Anyway, I am running LANight v2 nodatadata JB rom on her phone. I will be taking it to one of the GB roms listed on the OP. My question is, which one should I download and flash? With bootloader or no bootloader??? What is the risk if I flash with the GB bootloader Vs not...
I will be picking a stock rom with CWM kernel so I can flash the JB rom once I get the EMEI back.

So, I am going to do a nandroid back up.
Flash a stock GB rom (with or without bootloader???) via Oneclick.
Boot and copy the EMEI info (efs folder)
Boot into CWM and flash the JB rom, reboot.
CWM and nandroid restore.

Does this sound about right?

I bricked her phone once before... and I am hoping not this time.

Thanks for you help... ;)

There is no need to flash one with the bootloaders, if u have already had them flashed, been running a gb firmware, or dev'd rom based on gb firmware before---because u would have them.

If u need to flash the bootloaders just make sure u have a continual power source, reliable usb/micro usb cable and use a port in the back of ur pc...not a hub. Flashing the bootloaders only takes a few seconds but u don't want to interupt it during the flash or u could brick ur phone.

And ur flashin process looks good to go...

Thanks...
So, having had GB roms on my device assures that I have compatibility with GB bootloaders and GB roms? The fact that I have moved on to ICS and JB means that they are backwards compatible to GB bootloaders?
:D

If u have already been running Stock KK4 with no problems then there is no need in the future to flash anything with bootloaders, because u have the GB Boots installed...so from now on just use the KK4 without bootloaders if u want to flash back to Stock.

Problem and Questions

Hey there,
I have a weird problem when using a Samsung Captivate (ATT i897)

I was running CM9 and i wanted to flash Paranoid Android JB rom, so i followed the instructions to the letter(factory reset, and format cache, etc) and a weird problem occurred, everything works perfectly except:
1) i have no lock screen (even though it is check on (slide))
2) no notifications arrive, (i hear the ringtone and all, but it doesnt tell me anything)
3) i hold the home button and no recent menu comes)
i flashed back to cm9 and the problem came with me.
So i OdIn back to stock and followed this link (http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1350266 ) to get root and CWR and went to CM9, it works.
Fast forward one month and i decided to flash Lanight V6.5DD Jelly bean Rom.
The Same exact problem happened, i went back to CM9 and it followed me.

i have GB boot-loader from Kf1, and two ATT screen flashes come up whenever i boot my phone up (3 sec difference between the two)

I was thinking that maybe if i flash the latest ginger bread boot-loader cleanly then everything will install correctly.

TWO questions:
.
1) if i format the /boot in CWR can i go into download mode? So i can flash to the latest stock rom and as well get the latest boot-loader.

2) If i decide to Odin-one-click to KK4(with boot-loader) will it delete over the old boot-loader (s, if i have some weird issue)

i would like to see what is your opinion and expert help.

Sincerely,
Thatguy2007

I would suggest first just flashing the KK4 with Bootoaders from Post #3 of this thread. I see no need to format /boot from recovery. The KK4 is a Full Wipe, so once it is finished it will be just as if u took the phone out of the box with complete Stock KK4. Be sure u have a reliable usb/micro usb cord, constant power source and no interuptions while u r doing the flash with the bootloaders. Afterwards u can Odin flash KK4 Corn Kernel v7.0A to get CWM, etc.

I have a suggestion. You should probably add a warning on the OP that tells people that these one-click downloaders have a chance of making your phone forget how to go into Download mode.

See, I sent my SGS3 off for warranty repair and fell back to this device, but the dialer wouldn't even stay open. The ROM I'd left on it was crapping out. So, I thought I'd just flash stock and deal with that for the week (oh god, Thanksgiving's next week... it's going to be two weeks, isn't it?). Reboot into Download, open a Gingerbread one-click, connect, see yellow COM notice, start... hangs up. Try another one-click, same thing. Turn phone off, try to reboot with ANY method, and all I see is a picture:

cell phone...!..computer

where the ! is on a caution sign. Apparently this is a thing that happens with one-click downloaders and Captivates, and I can't fix it without soldering something and probably getting a resistor, which hardly seems worth it for a temporary phone. Alternatively, I can do something with a wire that is mentioned in the Unbrickable thread but not explained, then install Ubuntu, and then fix it within there. Ha.

Anyway, might want to warn for that. I would have worked on a broken ROM for a week rather than risk this.
