stock Roms vs custom Roms

could you please tell me what can I do with custom Roms that I can't do with stock ROM.
what is difffrent between custom and stock roma?
I now custom Roms are faster because of overclocking but what else?better reception or better battery or just better looking screens and icons.

getting rid of bloatware, better battery life, making it look your own rather than a clone of every other sensation out there, a little faster, smoother etc etc.

have a read through the diff rom threads and see what people are saying after using them

Best to do is read what they offer if anything get a Rom stock with out bloat at min

Bloatware is the apps and services your phone manufacturer and telecoms company decided you might need, they eat battery and storage space plus slow the phone down.

Stock ROM lasted a whole 3 hours on my new sensation, hated sense and poor battery life so I now use a senseless ROM which gives me 2 days use on a single battery with 7 hours screen on time. It only has the apps I need installed.
