I repacked and rooted stock roms for Odin-PC..
Now do not worry about counter & yellow triangle during flash with Odin-PC..

for this you must go to Recovery, select wipe partition cash, go to the download and flash a CSC

I clicked on Multi, selected depositfiles.com & downloaded with 3 breakes. It resumes from where it left off. Hope this helps.

1. Do I have to SIM Unlock first?
2. I'm currently on KK8 Kernel (not rootable)
3. I would like to gain Root access only, I don't want to change my current factory ROM.

Thank you too, but this also requires root access (to backup EFS) which is a must before unlocking imei in order to avoid bricking the device with a corrupt imei.

I'm have a still unlocked Note, purchased in December 2011. I rooted it on the second day, and have been flashing roms ever since.

No issues whatsoever. It's perfectly safe.
