I wouldn't mind one for the individual flashing through ADB/TWRP, I feel I am a bit lost for some reason.

Is there a way to pull the OTA out of the tot? I want to play, without erasing phone.

There's a huge thread on it. Engine95 has released stock zv8 that you can flash in TWRP
Go to http:// http://opensource.lge.com/osSch/list?types=NAME&search=ls990 to download the official ZV8 OTA update. It has been posted by LG since yesterday. Enjoy my G3 brothers!
It's important to note that installing the OTA will break root, correct?
What the rooted guys are needing is a system.img that can be flashed using the instructions in the OP through twrp without breaking root.

I was under the impression that the ota is actually a large collection of patch files. In theory, you could apply those patches to the zv6 system on your PC. Don't know if it's practical or not

I've never manually updated an OTA on stock recovery. Can it even be run on a stock on stock? My rooted/TWRP recovery was a snap.

Curious i'm not rooted....waiting for the ota like a kid on christmas eve. So i the question is can i or could i root my lg g3 then flash the ota in a recovery and then i would lose root is that correct????? I really didnt want to root this phone because of a tivo app that i have that wont work with a rooted phone.

There is some method to root in zv8 without going down to Zv4, my phone is new and not queiro do dowungraud. thanks in advance,
My question regarding this is stock recovery only shows the option to factory reset. I also renamed it update.zip but that didn't help

Do we have to root (per ZV6 instructions) back down to ZV4, then apply the ZV8 root ??

Yes. You have to revert back to ZV4 with the flash tool. There is no root for ZV6 and no root for ZV8. You will have to root on ZV4 and then flash the stock rooted odexed ZV8 rom to maintain root.

By downloading this can it be flashed thru stock recovery? Never messed with LG, as I've always had Samsung before. Actually i still use Samsung but the wife uses a G3
