Storage is 40gb not 64gb?

Apparently I'm using just 13gb. The total is 55gb and my available is 26.6gb.

55-13=26.6gb?

It works out that I've actually got nearer 40gb which is quite a bit below 55gb, let alone the 64gb stated (OK 9gb for OS etc, still 9gb is loads for just CM11 nightly IMO).

Doesn't appear correct. Did you factory reset and wipe data before flash cm11? I don't own an Opo yet, but make sure you follow the instructions about how to change the rom.

It is correct. You don't have to own a OPO in order to know that this is normal. @Aridon is right but he didn't elaborate on it. Replying with a one word reply doesn't help anyone unless its a yes or no answer.

I don't feel like explaining on why its not 64GB and only 54GB. http://superuser.com/questions/504/why-are-hard-drives-never-as-large-as-advertised read that instead.

Hope it helps.

I think you are wrong. Can you post a screenshot of your oneplus storage?

Sum all if his usage. It's about 14gb. The count doesn't match. 64gb (64.000.000.000.000) =~ 59.5gb

I know the full capacity is right, but the sum doesn't match.

I don't need to screenshot my oneplus storage. Its 54GB, every OnePlus One (64GB) is 54.87GB.
Whats advertised on the phone (64GB) is not what you actually get. This is applied on everything storage related, USB flash drives, iPods, other phones, SD card expansions, hard drives, SSDs, etc.

I just want to make my point. Did you sum his space used with free space?

I think OP has hidden files from stock rom that weren't removed when he changed the rom.

When you wipe, everything from your prior rom installation is removed. If it was a bad wipe, then the ROM wouldn't have booted.
I don't even know why I need to prove this to you. I understand you're trying to help but I know this kind of stuff, heres your screenshot.

As I said again, its normal.

Your screen is totally different from the OP. As I supposed, you didn't sum his storage sections.
So, as I said, it isn't normal. He has at least 14 gb of space lost.
Look at your available space and OP available space. Then look at both used space.

It is not totally different. My dpi is lower than the stock dpi. What do you want me to do now? Lower my dpi just to prove something to you?
You're the only one here saying it isn't when it is. The lost space is explained in http://superuser.com/questions/504/why-are-hard-drives-never-as-large-as-advertised as I've linked a long time ago.

It is normal and when you do get a OPO, you'll see that its on your phone too. Everybodies phone is like this.

I'm not talking about screen design. Sum your available data, apps data, pictures data, audio data, misc data. Make the same with the OP screen.

I can accept that only 54-55gb is the total available.

However using 14gb that should mean I have 40gb available, however it shows I have 26gb....

Ahm, you should know that the OS takes space on your phone too [emoji317]

I thought that's why its 55 instead of 64.

But even if that's not true and the OS comes out of the 55, the OS accounts for 14-15gb to take me down to 40gb available? I didn't know the CM11 nightly was so heavy?

Yeah, and that's why the usable space on the device is only 55gb, that isn't what he's talking about though if you read the thread properly.

The OS doesn't come out of the 55gb, it comes out of the 64gb, and that's why you're left with 55gb. As for why you seem to be missing an extra 15gb, I really don't know.

OP, try running df on terminal emulator. Don't think it will show more than what you already have but maybe it'll.

Clarifying, 64gb is actually 64.000.000.000.000 bytes which is equal to 59.5gb. Opo system partitions (system + cache) might have around 5gb, as user storage availability is around 54gb

Definitely there are some files hidden on OP phone in a hidden partition. I think it's somehow related to userdata from a previous rom. I've see that in another device.

Thanks for your feedback. I'll search for that hidden partition. I've flashed a lot of ROMs so that may well be it
