I wouldn't recommend it at all, unless you're having compatibility issues with newer ROMs. It's the exact same thing just with less options.

I mean, ROMs are flashing just fine - but the phone in incredibly buggy. Widgets randomly disappear, it's super sluggish at times, and the battery life is horrendous, even with the AJK kernel. I've been using CM 10.1.3 since it released, but something just isn't right. Any ideas there?

CWM won't have any affect on how your phone is performing. Honestly it's because AOSP for these phones after ICS is garbage. I would recommend trying this- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=42522825

I tried both of the sim unlock methods that you put in the OP. The first one I ran the app and it didn't work. So I tried the second one which has a play store like and whenough I tap on it the play store is telling me that it isn't available in my country, but I'm in the USA though. Is there a specific ROM that I need to be running to be able to unlock?

Do you have the grey or the black s2 because the grey one supposed to have a chip on the board so you can never unlock it

Uhm Idk, black I think but I'm not sure. So why would the play store be telling me that it's not available in my country? The app I was able to try said that it had been tested on 2.1 and 2.2 which I'm guessing is why it didn't work. I'm on a jellybean ROM.

Because it's currently against the law in the United States to unlock a cell phone without permission from the carrier.

Has anyone tried this to see if it does anything?
My phone just forced a reboot.
It hides the APNs on the phone.
I tried to add the default APN, and it wont show up. Mobile data is completely gone on the phone. Text messages and phone calls still function properly though.

And ideas on how to fix it?
Im currently on CyanogenMod 10.2. The nightly build linked in the OP, to be precise.

Flashing the ROM again will most likely fix it unless they changed something on the actual Sim card (which could be why they wanted you to turn your phone off). I would use root browser to look around and see if anything has been changed on todays date. The apn-conf.xml I believe is in system/ect.

Im thinking the SIM card may have been changed.
I looked under the phone status and it says I have an unknown phone number and serial number now....

EDIT: I used File Manager with root access to check my apn-conf.xml file.
Says the last time it was updated was Aug 8, 2008?! That can't be right...
