Would doing a backup work the same? I have a backup from before the change occurred.
That would actually be better as a backup contains data too. So that would eliminate any chance it could be something they done to block it in the phone itself.

Did your phone have to download anything when you received that text, or when you turned it back on?

Mobile data worked fine while I was at work. I got home and texted my girlfriend, and all of a sudden my phone rebooted. As soon as it was back up, the signal indicator no longer displays a signal type (E, 3G, H, H+, etc.)

Going to restore the backup now. Ill update when it finishes.

EDIT: It worked! Restoring my backup restored my APN settings. Mobile data has returned. :D
Otherwise, you were right, mr-cook. Reflashing the ROM should do it. Thanks for the advice!

Couple of Q's fellow s959g-ers,
(1) I need to completely wipe, remove, restore my phone to absolute stock. I am having some weird issues and want a "clean slate" to work off of. I currently have AJK (with custom initd and extweeks), cwm recovery, and cyanogen installed. I want all of it removed and want to start from scratch. What's the best way to accomplish this?

(2) upon completing Q1; I have a very small internal phone memory, somewhere around 1/2gb but I have a 32gb SDcard -- is it possible to format my SDcard to allow it to be used as "phone memory" so I can have more apps installed? I know there is the "move to SD" options, but this is not wgst I am looking for since this does not work for widget apps. Also I have a difficult time downloading apps without getting the "insufficient space" error via the play store during app installs.

(3) is it possible to customize/package CyanogenMod to install NovaLauncher (remove/replacing Trebuch) and SwiftKeyboard (instead of AOSP keyboard), amongst other apps (I have the .apk files) so they are installed by default? Also removing apps like Apollo and DSPmanager.

(4) what are some custom scripts, init.d, extweeks, etc you guys are using that I should look into using to get the best performance, battery life, speeds out of the GS2?

---------- ---------- ----------

Question #2 is of utmost importance. I am so tired of having to uninstall apps just to install or test new ones. There has got to be a way to use my SDcard as phone memory

I have:
- 100mb out of 1.97gb on Internal Storage (/system)
- 7.82gb out of 11.36gb on Internal Storage (/sdcard0)
- 14.84gb out of 29.32 on SD Card (/sdcard1)

So even if I could combine /system and /sdcard0 to become /system and only have 1 sdcard partition would suffice

As far add the SD card thing I have no idea. With 2gigs of storage available for apps I personally can't see why it's necessary to have more space. I have a lot of apps on my phone some I haven't used in months, and still have 1.2gigs free. So I would recommend getting rid of some unnecessary apps. If that isn't an option you're going to have to search for the answer you're looking for.

mr-cook,
I'm trying to download the cm 10.2 from the op but it takes me to the play store for the cm installer but then tells me its not compatible with my device.
Any idea's?
Currently running the SuperNexus ROM. Would like to install the 4.4 ROM ported to the i777. Problem is a status 7. I believe my cwm is not the right one needed. Currently using the Siyha based cwm included in your ROM.
Downloaded the newest version available on the cm web site for the i777 and flashed in thru cwm and it switches immediately but when recovery is rebooted it reverts back to the Siyha version even though I'm not currently running Cooked.
All the info I can think of.

That link has been changed on CM end. There's nothing I can do about that.

I added the new CWM from CyanogenMod to the OP a couple weeks ago. Try installing that to use with CM4.4.

Without knowing exactly what is draining your battery we can't be of much help. There are a lot of other posts, and topics around xda about battery drain.

If you think it's the modem that's causing it you could always try a different modem. Do you have poor reception? What ROM, kernel, and modem are you using? Are you using BetterBatteryStats to track what is draining your battery?

Even after a fresh install of CyanogenMod or your ROM, i only have 1.6gigs free. I honestly do not have that many apps even installed.. there must be something wrong, thus me asking how to do a complete wipe and restore. I mean wipe EVERYTHING and start with a completely empty partition on system, sd0 and sd1.
I already have all my apps installed to my sdcard, except for the ones I am using for widgets (uccw, widgetlocker, novalauncher, and mysimplecalendar)

I came across this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2412319 / any insight just from reading it if this is what I am looking for and will work for our phone model?

Mr_cook I need some help please. I flashed the cwm file using these steps. 1: ROM wipe zip 2: flashed cwm zip 3: rebooted recovery 4: result, will not boot past GSII screen. Cwm goes as far as the hat with cwm version at bottom then back to GSII screen. Repeating cycle.

ONLY 1.6 gigs free??? I'm not understanding your issue at all. I only have one gig left on mine.
It was my understanding that the system partition is where your system app are stored on Samsung ROMs. So wiping it is not going to help. When you install the ROM it's just going to put them back there. If you want to wipe your SD cards use a PC but make sure you back them up on your computer first.
Im not 100% sure about the system deal. If im wrong someone please correct me.
