I odined back to - CWM 6.0.4.5 Odin- SGH-S959G_CWM-v6.0.4.5.tar.md5 - 4.88 MB and can still not boot into recovery either by holding volume buttons and power or by the power menu in cooked.

got it back cool had to odin the aj recovery
Did you figure what happened here? You're the second person to have recovery problems since kitkat. That's kinda scary

Here is how I lost it.

While in this recovery CWM SGH-S959G PhilZ _CWM_v6.0.2.7 and on the cooked rom
I flashed CWM v6.0.4.4- (Thanks to mr-cook)- SGH-S959G CWM_v6.0.4.4.zip.

I went to reboot into recovery after the flash but wouldn't reboot into recovery. eventually phone booted into rom. couldn't get back into recovery. I odin back to origional recovery to no avail had to odin into -AJK CWM Odin- AJK-CWM.tar.md5 to get recovery back from there I reflashed CWM v6.0.4.4- (Thanks to mr-cook)- SGH-S959G CWM_v6.0.4.4.zip. and all is good.

Most likely just a one time glitch in PhilZ _CWM_v6.0.2.7 i didn't do anything different the second time. It was kinda weird that no other recovery would work except AJK CWM Odin- AJK-CWM.tar.md5 to make recovery work again maybe because it goes with the cooked rom?

Help - Status 7/Satus 6/Unnamed error in CWM

Hello,

I'm having issues flashing CM 10.1.3 on my S959G. I purchased my first S959G about a year ago, didn't have any real problems flashing. Brand new to the game then, a little complicated, but got it running.

After sending the phone in for warranty service, I'm trying to get CyanogenMod running again. I followed instructions and have CWM installed, have run the RootKit.

When I try to flash CM 10.1.3 (latest stable build), I got Status 7 error. I tried the trick to remove the GetProp lines from the updater-scrip file (in Word 2010), got Status 6 error. After doing some reading, I tried the same thing in Notepad++. This time, I get no specific error.

I'm not sure what else to do. I also tried the SHOstock3 ROM, but it looped on the boot animation (made it to the "SHOstock3" logo, then looped on the engine animation; fixed by restoring to factory...)

I'm not sure what else to do. I've skimmed this forum and several others for the errors, but am not sure where to turn now... 300 pages of posts, many of which are outdated...

Am I total idiot? Did I get the wrong CM rom?

I cordially ask for help... I've done all I know to do. I'm fairly n00bish with this stuff, but technically proficient :) have put several hours into this, into research and trying, and must finally throw myself upon the mercy of the forum... if anyone can help... please? I miss my current-ish firmware!

Thanks,

Did you do a cache, dalvik and factory data wipe, format system, format preload, before installing SHOstock3?

What version of cwm are you using?

Edit idk how long you've been gone but cm 10.1 is very outdated. Cm11 kitkat is now available for our device. But if you like jellybean i recommend using mr-cook's cooked ROM

CWM 6.0.4.5.

I was under the impression, from reading OP, that you had to run 10.1 before you could upgrade to a newer build? I'll try to find CM11 and give it a shot... thanks for the quick reply, btw, this is driving me up several walls...

Damn.

Ok, tried flashing the Cooked rom. Installed fine, was excited to see the Google load screen, the dancing colored circles... and nothing. Shuts down to black. Now I can't load CWM either, it shows the CWM logo and then goes to black.

I wanted to wait to install KitKat until there's a stable build...

What do I do now? I don't know how to get CWM back, or flash to stock w/o it...

BTW, I owe you a puppy and/or scotch if you can help me get this sorted... is it a kernel issue? Does the cooked rom flash my kernel for me?

Thanks again,

Use Odin to install cwm 6.0.2.7. I don't think that version of cwm is compatible with anything below kitkat.

Cooked will install the AJK kernel with the ROM. Just be sure took select update kernel in the installer.

How can I enable debug mode if I can't boot? My comp recognizes that the phone is connected, but Odin doesn't seem to see it...
