Did the system restart, dident fix the driver issue, also installed them manually and that didn't fix the issue either, still saying this device has malfunctioned. Im switching phones back to my old one to do the kernel bit first will see if the computer recognize it.

Just some info for you. I can no longer access my phone over computer because of a fault in the charging port. You might try a different USB cable and see if that works. The last time I had to Odin back to stock it was a nightmare. I tried 4 or 5 different cables to get it to work and now the one that worked then no longer works. Everything I do has to be flashable from cwm. Its a shame your having such issues but these phones are finacky at best. Things that work on 1 or 100 of them won't work on 10 or a 1000 others. The ROMs you are trying out are solid tried and true....for most. My guess is you are in the small percentage of folks cooked won't work. The effort you are putting into getting it up and stable is commendable, but after a few days of following your efforts I would recommend going with what works and trying to use exposed modules to get the experience your looking for. I used captivating ROM for a long time and really liked it. Now I'm on omni and even with battery issues I wouldn't go back to jb. I do wish you luck and hope you can work it out.

Thank you for that, it is very stressful and leaves you asking "why" and im running out of hope, pretty soon if we cant get this working ill be shopping for a new rom, sucks tho cuz i was feeling this one, and i dont like that camera that comes with cm10 and a lot of these other roms, record dosent have the pause button or many other options, so i gotta check and read about each rom to see what features it has, galaxys2root on youtube has been a big help.

Followed your intructions to a T and now i guess we just got to wait and see.
Also i tryed connecting phone to my laptop instead of pc and it connected fine... so now i gotta figure out why my desktop no longer reconizes it. At least i know its not the phones now.
And i tryed installing and running kies with this phone, thought it migjt work since its a i777 now but it dosent connect.. no error message either though, it just keeps trying to connct until i remove the phone. Is this to be expected?

Great news for StraightTalk users on the unlimited plan!
Just got off the phone with s.t. and is confirmed that we now have 3GB high speed data that we can stream videos, music, or teather data with! So no more worrying your using to much data! You can do what ever with your 3gb and once you hit that your phones data will drop down to 3G service. Sounds good! Use your data wisly.

I'm running Cooked. Have had it installed for a couple days. I've had the black screen of death twice but now seems to be settling in ok. The only issue I'm having is fast battery drain but that could be a battery issue. I've read earlier in the thread that is a known problem with these phones so not complaining about that.
I also ran ShoStock but I vote Cooked. Great job and thankyou for your hard work and help when needed.

Ok xda, can officialy rule out kernel. Phone been running ok all day until i just decided to test a reboot, phone powerd off, turned back on and was stuck on the samsung logo for way to long but loaded past that and made it to the lock screen and shut rite back off! Their was a message displayed for a quick second rite before it went off starting with ( unfortunately ) but turned off to quick to read anymore then that, then it went back into the bootloop, had to hold power button, when it loaded back up my battery was at 1% when i had a 60% charge before the reboot. Whats the next trouble shooting step?

Better hold your breath that you dont start having worse problems like me and some others, try rebooting your phone and see if you can get past the animated google screen. It took 3 days for my phone to start acting up.

The battery drop you're experiencing when you reboot your phone is a hardware bug. There's nothing you can do to fix it. If your battery is below about 65% just plug your phone to a charger before you reboot and it won't happen.

As for your other problems I'm inclined to say you have hardware problems. If you flashed AJK as i suggested and still have the same problem, you need to use Odin and flash your phone back to stock. There is a stock_sgh_i777 file in the op, it has a ".tar.md5" extension. Flash it in Odin and you will be back to out of the box stock phone. Then see if your problem still persists. If it does, your phone is broke and may need a new power button. If not, we'll go from there

Edit: the file is stock-sgh-s959g.tar.md5. It's at the bottom of the "download factory firmware section"

A little hard to believe that both my galaxy s2 phones are defective, and somebody else was having this power issue as well, if it was a hard ware issue it would had been doin this before i flashed anything running on stock, plus shostock3 booted fine, it just looks like you guys havent a clue whats going on and are not willing to figure it out.

Wow dude the drain issue is documented just do a search in this thread about it. You have been given advice from the best there is on this phone but refuse to listen. To come on here and bash the people that have tried to help you is rude when people have taken the time to respond to you and try. To say they are unwilling is ridiculous. Good luck to you.

Not bashing anybody, iv thanked everybody that has tryed to help, im jus simply not being herd, and it all gets fustraighting after a while! For instance this is not a drain issue, battery life is great, its a booting issue. But ill figure something out, im fast learner with electronics but it looks like i gotta give up on cooks and im not one to giv up i actualy like finding issues and fixing them.

Also was thinking us solving this could help others that may experiance this same problem, if it is the rom, or not the rom, at least it would be known forsure.
