Can you get into recovery or download mode?i have soft bricked my s959g s2 what can i do now
Can you be more specific? What did you do to brick your phone? If it's truly bricked then I would suggest using Odin to return to stock and then Odin in a custom recovery, then flash a Romi have soft bricked my s959g s2 what can i do now
Flash the stock Odin firmware from the OP. You never mentioned you were stock. Can't change build.prop in pure stock rom. Well not device id anywayi am in odin mode right now and linked to my laptop i had changed thoughs properties in previous post advice from TheGeekyNimrod i did enter model, name, device and board to sgh-i777 and rebooted and now all it does is come on for a couple sec. on logo screen(which is wrong model and also yellow triangle an then turns off
Op is "opening page", that is the first page of this thread. Sometimes Op refers to the threads author. just have to pay attention to the context it's usedwhen i turn phone off and turn it back on the logo screen doesnt stay on very long and screen blacks out and phone does not respond at all it does stay turned on when connected to laptop and in odin mode

hello?
So I took the note3 back and got the m8 from att and I love itSo what does the future hold? I'm planning on retiring mine next month. Right now I'm on the fence of oneplus one and nexus.
Jealous...So I took the note3 back and got the m8 from att and I love it
Just responsiveness, etc?It is amazing...
Everything with the exception of the camera. The camera may actually be worse but that's the only negative thing I can say about it. Everything else is off the chain. Antutu score broke 46000 outta the boxJust responsiveness, etc?
rogersb11 - I'm running CM10.1.3 stable with encryption on an S959G but none of the recoveries in the op's first post (including PhilZ 6.0.2.7 and TWRP 2.7.1.0 - found in another post) prompt for an encryption password - I would like to be able to backup my data partition through the recovery. I tried flashing Shift 5.0 and it just soft-bricked the phone so I had to reflash CM to get the original kernel back.Try my kernel with philz first. It supports encryption I believe
Well that's because they kernel isn't for pre KK. The recovery itself will work but that doesn't do much good. Give me a day or two and I'll build a JB kernel with a WAY newer philz than 6.0.2.7. I need to update the build but currently it's 6.56.8 I believe. I'm not sure why some of these roms support encryption when I THINK it's also kernel dependant. I'll quote you here when I've got that JB kernel readyrogersb11 - I'm running CM10.1.3 stable with encryption on an S959G but none of the recoveries in the op's first post (including PhilZ 6.0.2.7 and TWRP 2.7.1.0 - found in another post) prompt for an encryption password - I would like to be able to backup my data partition through the recovery. Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance...
Thanks for the try! No joy - same result as last time. Installing Shift-JB doesn't have any effect on the recovery (tried to install from CWM/PhilZ/TWRP) - just bricks the OS. Is the OS kernel separate from the recovery kernel or do they both use the same?Well technically this is for cm 10.2 but that shouldn't matter. Just went ahead and built. This is completely UNTESTED. I never built for JB, just have what's needed in my repo for stuff just like this
