@razen_kain. The news said there was flooding in Grant Parish. At one time you said you were working in that area. I hope that you and yours are high, dry and safe!
I am dry indeed. Over here in east Texas right now but my home town just east of here (Shreveport/bossier area) has just been inundated around the red river area. Glad I wasn't around for it.

The local news reported a levee break in Grant parish. Over a hundred people had to be rescued from the flood waters. No report of injuries or deaths. It's good to hear you're not in the middle of that mess.

CWM Links busted?

Hello again you good people. Hope I can bother someone for a response. I am looking to change my s2 to a KK ROM or something later than JB. Have the ROM and gapps already but when I try to grab the cwm 6.0.4.5 I get something bigger than what's listed. The link on the OP states the file to be 5.01 Mb and after downloading the file is actually 13.?? Mb. Needing this recovery to continue and am hoping someone can help me achieve some gratification this weekend....really wanting to play with the different ROM. Thanks and good day.

Already have cwm 6.0.2.7, I'm needing the latest for a Kit kat ROM, so in a sense I have already flashed. the files I download from filehost end up being an HTML copy of the download page. Makes no sense to me. To put it another way, clicking the download now button starts the download but not the file.

I'm 959 original, the only thing left identified is the radio.....I pretty much look for i777 ROMs....those links are the ones I'm in reference to....will give them a shot
Hope they will provide a different outcome this time. :)

I wish it would allowy screenshot so it could clarify some understanding...it just downloads the HTML code of that specific page....each link does the same, however the 6.0.4.4 worked. What KK ROM are you using BTW?

I downgraded to Resurrection Remix 5.1.5 Android 4.4.2 because of lollipop ROMs issues, try another browser if you are using Chrome on android.

So I've done some digging and have learned that it was the downloader. I normally use ES and changed that to allow the browser to pull it, and voila! Thanks for the lead on the KK ROM, I tried neatrom, worked great but my earpiece lost functionality.

No problem, I would suggest OmniROM 4.4.4 or Resurrection Remix v5.1.5 4.4.2 , you get Active Display in those ROMs from Motorola X, or if you really feel adventurous, install a Lollipop ROM, the only issues I've seen is the outgoing call bug, no sound on a call upon connecting but fixable by toggling speakerphone on then off, skippable if you earbuds/headphones or a bluetooth headset, in SlimLP beta 0.2, CyanideL 17.5 RC, OmniROM LP, or Cyanogenmod 12.1 Lollipop. But it's totally up to you and what you want to use, I'm not here to force someone into using a ROM I like. :p

I thought it was...a lot of the ROMs I search are based on the i777 builds just have to make sure you have the correct radio installed.....I've rooted mine and used several different ROMs just based off of this thread. Searching the thread with the search tool will yield massive results. See post#5 from the OP that's a fairly good clue.

Ok ok ok wait... Let's clear up some confusion. The one and only difference between the 959g and the i777 is that the 959g has its recovery on a separate partition by itself, whereas the i777 has kernel and recovery on the same partition. The 959g can use any ROM or kernel built for the i777 no problem. But if you want a different recovery on 959g you must use one of the zips from the op or Odin. If you had an i777 and you flash a new kernel it will also install a new recovery as it will be packaged in the zip. If you flash the same kernel on the 959g, your kernel will change but recovery remains untouched since it is on a different partition. That is the one and only difference between the two. Happy flashing :D

Sorry it took so long. I'm not used to this thread seeing any action. I hope it helps
I am hoping that you can help...I have the s2 sgh-s959g from straight talk, and I have been trying to use this forum to update (I know I'm probably a couple years late to this)...I can't seem to be able to get around the stock recovery (e3?)...I have tried flashing cwm and twrp using odin...but nothing sticks to the phone (odin goes "green" and says it was successful...but when I try to boot into recovery I get the same old stock recovery)...

I have tried to place update rom with cwm recovery on the root of the external SD, but when I try that option with the stock recovery...it can't find any of the files. Are there any simple directions on how to do this? How do I find the root of the external SD? Do I unzip the files I download before placing on the external SD (assuming where I have tried to put them is actually the right place)

I'm still running gingerbread, and If I can't update to jelly bean (or something newer) I'm going to have to ditch this phone....Any help would be appreciated.
