EDIT: shoman94, and jeboo thank you. This is an awesome ROM. It does also work with the sgh-s959g straight talk s2. Have you updated your checks to include our model number (I was already on CM10.1 so I had a i777 build.prop when I flashed this)? That way people could flash this from stock without swapping their build.prop first.
Mr. Cook thanks as I have been waiting for shoman94 to add sgh-s959g.
Im on SHOstock3. You flash it if your already on CM10.1. I just dont think you can from stock+CWM.

Try the app found here (it's all the way at the bottom of the first post)- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=30541172

Dj16921 do you have the tmobile APN set, have you tried unlocking again it may have just been a bad patch when you unlocked the first time. Try the one I linked to in this post.

Data won't work, ST cut me off because I downloaded over 7gb in a week. (forgot to turn wifi on) and that unlocker you linked seems to be a older / newer version of the one I bought. That one did the same thing :( Can't call / text after its unlocked

If you continue having network and calling problems your IMEI may have been deleted or corrupt. Check out GSII_Repair https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.helroz.GSII_Repair&feature=more_from_developer
Is this in regards to after an unlock?

If you can't dial out / text after unlocking, restore it and see if it works after that.

Tried to unlock my phone as well and had the same problem. Signal just disappears and came back when I restored the lock.

Ok I have been following this forum for awhile and was wondering if there is a way to root the stock firmware and keep all functions of the phone working?
or do you need to upgrade the rom ?
I just want root now bells or whistles just root

Best way would be to flash cwm in odin and then flash the root zip in cwm. This can be found in the first post. I added a bunch of stuff yesterday it will be near the top. That will give stock+root and also cwm to make backups, or later on install a custom rom.

EDIT: It's in the top section with full instructions in the first post.

All though it may work after unlocking I would only recommend it as a last ditch effort. Use it if your phone will not recognize the sim at all. The unlock apps all seems to have problems with newer firmwares. Galaxy sim unlock seems be the only one that only on certain phones and roms does the trick in jelly bean. I would recommend downgrading back to gingerbread and trying galaxy sim unlock again or galaxy s unlock. Your phone should then unlock and stay unlocked. Then you can flash back up. But even then it seems on certain JB roms you will lose unlocked status. Its hit or miss on JB. You should be fine staying unlocked on GB or ICS. I have not unlock my phone just because I have no need for it as of now.

Mr cook can you confirm this? I believe you unlocked your phone while on stock rom correct? If so did you retain unlocked status when flashing CM10 and SHOstock3?

Cm I was still unlocked. It relocked going to shostock, but the one I linked to last night unlocked it again. I havent had any problems at all being unlocked thats just the most up to date way to do it.

sim unlocking

Interesting Sim unlock that worked

installed odin cwm
made nandroid backup of complete stock phone
rooted with cwm
made second nandroid of rooted totally stock straight talk 959
booted phone
no problems
installed galaxsim unlock
ran galaxsim , it said phone was unlocked
of course after reboot phone still said unlocked but would no longer talk/text or connect in any way with anything
this is the norm with galaxsim unlock on this phone
rebooted into cwm recovery and restored rooted backup of stock rom
phone now unlocked sim tested with 5 different activated sims
phone works perfect and apn edit is no longer locked out

ALSO NOTE : The phone will remail sim unlocked after install of any of the 3 main custom roms mentioned in this thread, ergo supernexus , showstock3, jellybam, ECT. I have tried many roms and all remained sim unlocked
Interesting but worked

I'm sure this is probably a stupid question but it's been bothering me a lot lately. I know it's a pretty common problem for texts to occasionally be out of order on gsm phones but since i rooted my phone almost any time i get a message that's more than 1 message long the messages are out of order and can become frustrating to figure out their sequence t times. the main solution i've been able to find for this is to make sure automatic date and time is checked in settings but that didn't help. does anyone know how to fix this or at least reduce the frequency of it happening?

I've been noticing this problem on my stock phone for the past few days so it may be a network issue.

THANK YOU!!!

I just wanted to thank everyone who was even slightly involved in this whole thing!! Been following this thread from day 1 and finally broke down and flashed cm10 last night and am loving it!! Had a couple problems in Odin not picking up my phone, but it finally worked and then everything else went flawlessly!!! Haven't rooted since I had my og droid 1, and had ROMs like bugless beast, ultimate droid, and liquid smooth. I just have a question, I read earlier where I believe Mr. Cook went from cm10 to shostock 3, did u wipe data and factory reset before installing the next ROM? And a big thanks to everyone for the development of this phone, it is greatly appreciated!!!
