I just wanted to thank everyone who was even slightly involved in this whole thing!! Been following this thread from day 1 and finally broke down and flashed cm10 last night and am loving it!! Had a couple problems in Odin not picking up my phone, but it finally worked and then everything else went flawlessly!!! Haven't rooted since I had my og droid 1, and had ROMs like bugless beast, ultimate droid, and liquid smooth. I just have a question, I read earlier where I believe Mr. Cook went from cm10 to shostock 3, did u wipe data and factory reset before installing the next ROM? And a big thanks to everyone for the development of this phone, it is greatly appreciated!!!
Yes. Factory reset, wipe cache, and wipe dalvik cache (I usually do all this twice just in case) BEFORE you flash to a different ROM. Don't forget to make a backup before wiping everything. SHOstock3 is great enjoy.

Any help would be Great!

hey guys can anyone make a stock recovery that is flashable in CMW. This would help people who do not autopay keep there phone going if they slip up and miss there date to re-up. I would like it in case i wish to give my phone to someone (like my wife) in the future. when you move a phone number with ST it has to be stock or it wont work. i ran in to this with my lgl55c when she took it over and it was a pain getting that back to stock.
So by the way, has anyone told you guys that you are great. I am so happy with my device. you guys deserve a round of thanks and applause. thank you all very much.

No gmail is good. I dont think I have any apps on my sd card, so no problems there. I'm on v1.8 with the 1.1d kernel, its been so good I havent been updating it.

You may be able to use mobile odin. I don't have Linux, but I will look around to see if there's another way.

lol. to late. some times i am a complete bonehead. so anyone elce wanna crush my ego and make me feel dumb go right ahead. thanks for your help angelj
only thing else i can think of is going back to stock by flashing the odin stock firmware in post# 1 then create a backup. Or, and i`m not to sure if this will work, i can post my stock + root backup file for you. then you just need to place it in your CWM->backup folder and flash it.

Ok I'm stuck trying to make a stock ROM zip. I used CM10.1 as a base, renamed it, deleted the system folder and replaced it with a stock one from a cwm backup, deleted boot.img and replaced it with a stock one from a cwm backup. But this gives me a status 7 error (chmod I think it was) trying to flash. I know there are things in the updater script that need deleted, but I don't know about the updater binary I have no way to access it with windows. Hopefully someone else with Linux can jump in here and make this.

That should work.Hopefully you don't have any personal info in the backup.

sort of off topic

it seems alot of stuff with phones needs to be done in Linux. i think i am going to load a new partition of Ubuntu to my comp to mess around. if anyone knows of any good tutorials for running Linux let me know cuz i am a nub and i like to ahead of what i am getting into :)

Toilet
status 7 error
Assert Check failed, build.prop error.

Where ever you are getting your cwm backup of the /system folder must contain an old version of /system/build.prop. Replace that file with a newer version built recently that contains the updated assert checks for the s959g.

It passed the assert checks. The problem is the stock ROM doesn't have backuptool functions in system bin. Theres probably more but thats as far as it gets. I rewrote most of an updater script last night, but that gave me a status 6 error (I don't have the right program on my computer) it's like an encoding error.

They had a lot of bugs the past few days. Seems like alot of people are going back to 1/19 or earlier to fix for now. Subcribe to entropys512's i777 CM thread for all the latest- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=29330094
