You can't get true 4g on straight talk. Highest speed I hit was 7mb down 1mb up. It's kinda like 3g+. Of course they throttle you too/QUOTE]

I'd be thrilled to get 7MB down and 1MB up but the highest down I've seen is 2.5 (with many sub 1.0 readings). I have seen 1.0 up, but this morning it was 26KB (not MB) which is like slow dial-up! I couldn't even access this page at the time.

Seems hit or miss sometimes it's fast sometimes it's very slow sometimes it just doesn't work for a little bit. Maybe you should call and raise hell. My buddies didn't work at all until he called they had to adjust something on their end, didn't activate correctly I guess. Good luck buddy.

Long story short... my home net died not to long ago so I had to use my mobile data (illegal tether) and I forgot to turn off my video podcasts one night. I don't know what my data was at before I did this, but I got a data warning message and since that time I haven't had data. Today is the start of my new month and data didn't come back. I did a reformat via root menu and then though the phone's settings menu. Still not working.. I've done all the ST APN settings I could find and that didn't work. I'm running out of ideas other than ST disabling my data... Ideas? thanks for the help.

From what I've read at Howard Forums, you have to request to get it back (even though ST says it comes back when next cycle begins).
I guess I can try that. I hope they have some sort of decent CS... Thanks

edit: I'm very pleased (still hyperventilating...) to report my Mobile Data came back on it's own. Praise duh lord!

Also, I did "try" calling ST and the first # I tried gave me a busy sound. NOT GOOD. Although... I pretty much assumed I'd be on my own with pre-paid.

How do I change the MMS settings on HTC HD2 for Straight Talk

Dear sirs,
I have a T-Mobile HD2 that is unlocked. I am trying to setup this phone to use Straight Talks unlimited plan with an AT&A sim card. I have all original Windows software 6.5. Can any one please guide me through the setup for Straight Talk? I can talk on it fine. I also used data today, but I'm not sure it always works or maybe I changed the wrong settings when trying to fix the MMS problem. I can send regular texts. But I cannot send any picture messages.

Please help me setup my phone if you can. If you think it is best to try to upgrade to android first I will try, but I'm ok with Windows right now. I just need a little help. I am new here.

Thanks, Vern

Thanx---worked on my Straight Talk GS2 ShoStock

I know this thread is old as hell, but to new users who are considering going with Straight Talk (ST), I suggest you do it. Its way cheaper than AT&T and you still get their coverage and not to mention unlimited data**. You can get the Straight Talk SIM card via their Bring Your Own Phone (BYOP) program. You can get it at their website.

**You get unlimited data as long as you don't abuse your data connection.

Oh and if you are having trouble trying to get data/mms working on your cappy with ST, here are the APN settings.

1. Download APN Back up/ restore from the Play Store

Name: ST (or whatever you want)
APN: att.mvno
Proxy: proxy.mvno.tracfone.com
Port: 80
Username: Not set
Password: Not set
Server: Not set
MMSC: http: mmsc. cingular. com
(**no spaces and no"//"**)
MMSC proxy: 66.209.11.33
MMS port: 80
MCC: 310
MNC: 410
Authentication Type: Not set
APN type: default,supl,mms
APN protocol: IPv4
Bearer: Not specified

I use this with Froyo, Gingerbread, and ICS. It works perfectly!

Cheers and let me know if this helps you out. :)

APN settings for Galaxy Blaze mms

I have tryed all apn setting I could find, tryed 2 apn's still not working. The only thing I have not tryed is to edit the original default APN with an editor. It seems like I am still some how partly on Tmobile.

Not exactly sure how it works for AT&T but with Rogers, we have the LTE APN and the MMS APN, so 2 different one. The MMS APN can't be selected, it's just there. So my guess (if AT&T works somewhat like my carrier) is that you need to have both APNs.

apn help!!

It wouldn't hurt to try it. Just make sure you write down your current settings in case it doesn't work.

Go to Settings/ More settings/ Mobile networks/ Access Point Names and then tap the capacitive menu button to add New APN.

Sorry for the late reply. I don't really monitor this thread a lot because of school and that I'm out on sea deployment a lot. Have you downloaded APN Backup/Restore from the Play Store? That's how I got full access to the APN section when I was on the stock ROM for the Captivate. If not, go download it and apply the settings I used.
