My phone has been lagging for quite sometime. Today while talking to a friend I got another call. All efforts to switch calls to take another failed. Somehow I managed to cancel the call. After sometime the call came up again. By this time phone got quite a bit heated. So I hurriedly removed the batteries. On inserting the batter once again - phone tried to bootup but is stuck at the Samsung screen. Tried quite a few times it dint work. Somehow I was able to get into the CWM recovery. So I tried reflashing my rom - Shostock v3. It dint work, on booting I was still stuck at the Samsung logo.
Then I tried going to Download mode and doing a Odin load:

The whole thing passed but the phone still refuses to bootup. Now I am confused what to do.

Edit: Got it to work. Though lost all my contacts/sms.

Not to mention the fact he could've simply factory reset ( which is probably what he did in the end) to get the phone to boot. Remember folks, always read search and make sure you know what you're doing with the device you're using. Posting a new thread should be a last resort after thoroughly searching and trying to fix the issue

Why aren't your contacts synced to your Google account? Also, you should always back up important data before flashing anything.
There were some recent contacts which were lost.

Yep, did a factory reset. Tried the Odin download without clearing the caches to avoid losing my contacts and SMS. I did search to try and avoid doing the reset. Specially when the phones crashes and then suddenly refuses to turn on (had the same rom for over 4mths now). Dint work so had to reset it.

Yeah I know the feeling, something goes wrong and you end up losing a bunch of data . Glad you got it working in the end. :)
