Hey guys,
I've been trying to work with my friends ZL for the past day or so. Normally I don't have these sorts of problems.. I've successfully been able to root and install custom recovery and rom within a day on devices like the Xperia U, Nexus 4, and Xperia X10. For some reason I'm having trouble with the ZL, locked BL.
- If I plug in the phone to the PC and load up flashtool, it says connected in flashmode. I can force it to connect in fastboot by holding vol+ but if I do nothing, it automatically connects in flash mode. This isn't normal, is it? Automatically connecting in flash mode?
- If I try to flash a stock FTF, it will flash it with NO issues at all. The only problem is when it is done flashing, it says the regular message of disconnect and start your phone, but at the same time it says phone connected in flashmode. So FTF flashes and completes and the flashtool log still says it's connected in flash mode, then if I try to disconnect the phone and boot it, it used to start looping, but now it just gives me 3 quick flashes of a red LED
- If I try to power on the phone, I just get 3 quick red LED flashes
- If I try to connect the phone to the charger, it shows the sony logo for a quick second, shuts down, then shows the sony logo again, and repreats indefinitely
- If I try to connect it to the PC, it boot loops in the same way. If I leave flashtool open, it says device connected in flash mode, then disconnected, then flash mode, then disconnected, and so on.
Based on my very limited knowledge of these things, I'd say the phone is stuck in flash mode.
Now, how do I get the phone out of flash mode? Or if that's not the problem, how do I fix this? I don't think it's possible to permanently brick an Android phone these days, so there must be something I can do get this phone back.
