SuperSU / Magisk / something else? If I understood this correctly systemless Magisk is recommended but I guess I should use another thread for this question anyway.

Have a nice weekend und einen schönen Abend noch!
I'm using SuperSU and I'm fine with that. Depends on what you really "need".

I wanted to root the device but I now I have a device that doesn't boot anymore. :(

What I've done so far wasn't this much:
  1. unlocked bootloader (fastboot oem get_unlock_data and fastboot oem unlock)
  2. flashed TWRP (fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.0.2-0-griffin.img)

I bootet into the system, downloaded Magisk because I was going to root the device. I bootet into Recovery / TWRP and saw that I wasn't able to find the download folder where I downloaded Magisk. I rebootet and since then I can't boot into the system again.
Fastboot and recovery are possible tough. When I'm trying to boot regulary the device is stuck in:

Code:
Your device has been unlocked and can't be trusted.

To learn more, visit:
motorola.com/unlockbootloader

ID: bad key

Your device will boot in 5 seconds.
It looks pretty much like this except the ID ('N/A' in the image but 'bad key' on my mobile).

But it never boots. Before TWRP the screen appears as well but at least it is booting into TWRP.
Clearing cache didn't help neither.

Any idea what could help?

PS: I changed the clock in TWRP to 24h format but I guess this should brake anything — right?
PPS: I also tried to flash some official image (XT1650-03_GRIFFIN_RETEU-EMEA_6.0.1_MPL24.246-17_cid50_subsidy-DEFAULT_regulatory-03_CFC_EMEA) I found here somewhere but it failed with an error message that it won't downgrade security and therefore not flash. Perhaps because I upgraded to Android 7 when I got the mobile?
PPPS: I found a thread on another board with the same problem but no solution
I have the exact same problem. It can be called a bootloop, but not really, your device can still boot to system.
Whenever my device restart, it'd restart into TWRP. From TWRP, I have to reboot to bootloader and choose ''Start'' from there. It's quite annoying. And there's that 5 seconds thing too.

I had this problem and only solved it by reflashing stock using fastboot. Then I could flash twrp and then the custom ROM.

Forgot to mention, is it worse if it says ID: N/A? before booting?

Okay guys, do the following:

1) Download the Stock Image here and extract the archive to a folder of your choice: https://mirrors.lolinet.com/firmwar...ubsidy-DEFAULT_regulatory-DEFAULT_CFC.xml.zip
2) Download the Fastboot and Batch-File archive from here and extract it into the Stock Image folder: https://www.sendspace.com/file/1rm4cj
3) Shutdown your phone and then push the VOL- and Power-Button at the same time. You should now enter the Bootloader.
4) Connect your phone to the computer (USB)
5) Open up the command prompt and go the folder where you extracted the Stock Image and Fastboot files to
6) Type _FLASH.bat and ignore all error messages you will possibly see
7) Wait till the phone boots up with the Motorola Splashscreen

That's how I revived my device.
I still get that 5 second message.

I had this issue on my Moto Z, spend about 12 hours flashing different firmware and trying to get this fixed. Eventually I found one that worked.

Here is the download: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B75-9aOL98VYb0RmUFc1RElQUGs/view?usp=sharing

Just use the FlashThis.bat whilst your device is connected with fastboot in the bootloader, after it finishes it should boot your phone and you should see the N/A again. Give it a couple of minutes and your phone should boot into Android.

It will give warnings during flashing, downgrade, not signed and so on. But it will work fine.

Well is there a way to flash some stock img files without overflashing the installed rom.
Sinice i have a fully working rom and i dont want to loose any data that isnt backed up with twrp.

I have installed the latest lineage 14.1 on my moto z play and im using the sd-card as internal storage.
So i guess i can backup the system but when flashing the stock files and restore my twrp backup... there will still be data im loosing?!

The actual state is, that when im rebooting the phone it boots into twrp where i can reboot in bootloader and choose start -> where it is booting in lineageos

Im happy about any hint and answere.
Thanks

Hi

Moto z xt1650-03 7.1.1 reteu + trwp + magisk
Flashed RSD Lite GRIFFIN_OPL27.76-51_cid50_subsidy-DEFAULT_regulatory-DEFAULT_CFC.xml.zip
When I'm trying to boot regulary the device is stuck in:
Code:
our device has been unlocked and can't be trusted.
To learn more, visit:
motorola.com/unlockbootloader
ID: [B]bad key[/B]
Your device will boot in 5 seconds.
I tried flashed GRIFFIN_OPL27.76-51_cid50_subsidy-DEFAULT_regulatory-DEFAULT_CFC.xml.zip fastboot:
Code:
(bootloader) slot-cont: not found
(bootloader) slot-suffixes: not found
(bootloader) slot-suffixes: not found
(bootloader) has-slot:system: not found
Flashed only TWRP-3.1.1-GRIFFIN-20170528-MODS.img by erfanoabdi, other TWRP no flash.
Before TWRP the screen appears as well but at least it is booting into TWRP.
If in TWRP to choose Reboot "Bootloader" the device:
Code:
our device has been unlocked and can't be trusted.
To learn more, visit:
motorola.com/unlockbootloader
ID: [B]n/a[/B]
Your device will boot in 5 seconds.
and fastboot choose "START" the system to be loaded, but at the following reset we will see:
Code:
ID: [B]bad key[/B]
There are ideas?

I will answer itself, can to whom in the future will help. Installation of magisk solved a problem.

Hi
I have flashed the stock firmware with rsdlite. But when I'm again trying to install or subside load supersu/magisk fails...
The issue again cannot mount storage... .
So I have no Os? And was wiped or corrupt? :(

When you flash with rsdlite you will have stock rom and recovery(if not then flashing was not successful)

if you want to use magisk, reinstall the latest version of twrp then install any custom ROM of your choice THEN boot into the ROM then go back to TWRP and install magisk
