Stuck On Google Screen

Just out of curiosity, how do you use it as a dvr?
I use it for OTA (Over-The-Air) recordings. AverMedia USB Tuner with an antenna plugged into it that plugs into a usb hub (since the Nexus Player only has Micro USB). The Live Channels app detects it as a TV tuner to pull in the program guide data for watching live TV. But to use the DVR part you have to plug a flash drive or hard drive in that's at least 64GB into that hub. There's support for another USB tuner, I believe Hauppauge and some of the HDHomerun Network tuners. It works great (or I should say "did" work great...since I'm stuck on boot haha).

Same issue here... stock and locked. Turned on TV yesterday and it was stuck on the boot animation; same after rebooting. After a factory reset, now stuck on Google screen. Have submitted an incident with Google support. Hopefully they'll know what happened as it seems to be due to something pushed to the systems this week as too many have the issue in the same small window to be random.

I also reported this to Asus support. They wanted me to send my two units back so they could reimage them (they are stock and locked). I told the rep I was concerned that they would fix it, just to end up in this same position in a week or two since it appears that an update would have caused this issue in the first place. My ticket was escalated to engineering support and I was told it would be a couple of days for them to investigate and contact me. Will post results from that discussion when I get it.

Add mine to the pile. I was running stock when it stopped working so I rolled back to 7.1.2 and it ran great for about a week. Now I also get stuck on the black google screen.

Also now having this problem.... I never modified/rooted or anything... it started acting up, apps wouldn't load, so I unplugged/replugged. Stuck at Google logo.
I did factory reset through Recovery, same thing after rebooting.

I've contacted ASUS support as well about my 2 stuck devices. They asked that everyone with the problem go to their support page and submit an email using the "Complaint" category.

Do you have a link to their contact page with an email address? Trying to find it but running into only phone numbers...

Thanks,
Bryan

Yet another apparently bricked device.

Mine was unlocked but otherwise completely stock.

Was on loading bootloop. When I plugged/unplugged now stuck on Google screen.

Will subscribe to thread in hope of a resolution.

I wish you guys luck in finding a solution. I gave up and traded mine in at Best Buy to get a $30 off coupon for an nvidia shield. I could have kept it longer, but I was never able to get it into any form of a recovery. I didn't feel like fighting with it anymore. At least this way I got something out of it. It was a good device while it lasted.

I just had 2 die. The 1st one was about 2 weeks ago, I bought a new one online because I figured the old one had just died, but tonight the one in my bedroom died too. The new one I just got is still working but Im afraid the same is going to happen to it now too. I called Asus Customer Service and was told the warranty has expired on my devices and if I wanted to pay $60 then i could send it into them to look at. Im not doing that. They have obviously done something to these players. If anyone finds out what is going on please post. I love my Nexus players and this is such crap!

I have unplugged my 3 units before they get killed with this virus-like killer update.
One of you are going to have to bite the bullet and send your bootlooped units to Asus to find and fix the problem.
How do you expect a fix when they don't have a broken unit to autopsy?

I've been emailing with Asus. They want the same $60 fee for out of warranty repair. At this point, I feel like if you guys can't fix it, Asus has no hope.
