Hi folks! Hopefully get some good advice/pointers for this issue.

TIA for any help or further reading etc. :)

Had a Kindle Fire HD 7" (X43Z60) for about 2 years, rooted and ROMed for most of that with TWRP and CM 10.1 just left as is without updating since then.

Last few days there were a few problems like the soft key for listing current running programs not doing anything, picking up screen interactions so that a tap issued 2 commands on the screen and just being crap in general. Reset or hard reset fixed for a while.

Today though, the soft key went again and I had to hard reset. Since then it's been stuck on splash with nothing picking up the device existing, ie device manager, fastboot, adb etc.

I have tried to follow several threads but they all seem to assume that either I can 'see' the device or that while <waiting for device> is there the kindle will be seen after plugging in the micro usb and starting up.

So, nothing I've tried can see it and adb/ fastboot stay at <waiting> regardless what I try. I'm sure this will be a very simple thing and I'm guesing the loader has become corrupt somehow but I'm at a loss and have several million tabs open! :)

Any clues or points to threads where I might get a little progress please folks? Have searched the forum and Google for hours.
