Fantastic photos, but I do worry about the overprocessing of the JPEGs. Look too sharpened. Is there a way to turn it off for a more natural look?
Looking too sharpened really confuses me. They are just sharper than other phones. It isn't a fault or artifacts, they are sharp and full of detail. They're not over sharpened like Galaxy phones or LG phones of the past. People are just not used to sharp photos. With a DSLR the sharpness is insane compared to most phones.
You can always reduce the sharpness in post if you like a duller shot.

Sorry, but no. I've been shooting on DSLR/Mirrorless for almost 10 years. I know what "sharpness" looks like. Destructive over-sharpening can't be fixed. Guess I'll have to shoot in RAW.

Left is a perfectly sharp photo shot on a Sony A7III + 85/1.8 lens.
Right is the same photo, oversharpened in post, which is what all Mate 20 Pro JPEGs I've seen look like.
You can go from Left to Right, but not Right to Left. But if you prefer Right, I guess good for you.
Sorry for going off-topic, but people need to learn.

Not a particularly exciting scene but a number of shots taken from the same point at different zoom levels

0.6x Wide Angle

1x Zoom

3 x Optical Zoom

5 x Digital Zoom

10x Digital Zoom

Glad to see I'm not the only one who noticed it, I thought I was going crazy. The overprocessing issue is a major irritation for me, I'm crossing my fingers for improvements in future updates.
