Stupid return

Yeah so I purchased my PIXEL 2 XL day one and received it 10/18.
I didnt see extended support option and ran through purchase in a flurry.

Turns out you can only do that at the time of sale and I have to return my perfectly working phone to buy a new one.

You could always get insurance through Square Trade if you don't want to return the phone. That's what I've done with my last few phones, although I've never actually had to make a claim.

Turns out the IMEI on my phone is specific to retail store purchase, not online store.google purchase.

So they are scratching their heads to figure out how I ended up with it and whether or not they will accept the return.

I feel like sending them the photo from the guy with the phone that was mailed to him even though it failed QA.

They certainly make it hard to buy their products. Now that I am disappointed I am thinking twice about ordering again.

That isn't much harder than ordering an iPhone from Apple. They insist on shipping it to the mailing address you have on on file with your cell carrier, and will not allow you to switch to another. I tried to buy an iPhone X, but they would not let the order go through because they think I have a PO Box but I don't.
