If you have TWRP PIN problem, check your file system type of /data partition, in TWRP choose <Wipe> ==> <Advanced>, select target partition (say 'data'), then press <Repair or Change File System>, now the file system type will show on screen, then you can just press back to leave.

In my case, my /data partition type was 'emmc' when TWRP asked me for password, I changed it to 'f2fs' manually which solved the TWRP password issue. But after I reboot the system (beta 8) it changed back to 'emmc', I don't know why but I believe somehow beta8 changed it back to 'emmc'.

When Nugat beta was out, on 30.11.2016 i just flashed. I did NOT do any changes. 3.2.8 from official site, the same. I just flashed in TWRP 3.0.2.1.28 recovery.
Wird thing on site it say 05.12.2016, on zip it's 18.11.2016..., but everything works.
Who wants root SuperSU SR5 works fine.
I've check now. My file system it's ext4.
thanks
am on beta 8 with F2FS, stock revovery
thinking abt switching to some other rom, so probably I will have to change to ext4 after flashing modified twrp

Actually, I think this happens because of encryption.
When it's working as it should, when you enter your PIN, pattern, whatever, TWRP will decrypt and mount the partition as either F2FS, ext4, or whatever it is formated as.
However, because of the beta issue, the PIN, pattern, whatever, isn't recognized, TWRP fails to decrypt and mount the /data partition, so it won't know what type of FS it is. That's why it only says eMMC (embedded Multi-Media Controller).
Doing any of the above actions formats the partition, which results in losing encryption, so after you perform that, TWRP is again able to mount the /data partition correctly.

Hi,I read the entire thread but I'm quite confused. Does the method on the op works? Im on ext4. No issues with twrp. Im on modified twrp. So, do I just wipe and then flash 3.2.8?

I'm planning to format system as f2fs and after that I have to push rom to internal storage(cause everything will be formatted) using twrp adb but I can't push files with twrp. It says error cannot connect. Other adb features like sideload, flash are working fine but I can't push or pull file using adb. Can anyone help.

I have
Updated adb interface
Updated drivers
