Hello every one
i want to share my HTC sensation XE RIFF BOX JTAG experience

My phone was stuck in bootloader and it had a bad eMMC partition table so i was not able to do anything just watching the bootloader screen

so i decided to perform a JTAG stage and is was like this

THINGS YOU MIGHT NEED
* RIFFBOX
* dead HTC SENSATION (XE)
* USB cable for htc sensation (xe)
* solder with a thin head
* very high quality of solder wires
* motor coil (we need the cable that makes the coil because it's ultra thin and it's solid and it's covered with a plastic isolator to avoid contact between cables i think this is the most important thing that you will need to work in a good condition)

How to:
YOU DON'T NEED EXTERNAL POWER TO DO THIS STAGE, JUST USB CABLE

1- solder the jtag pins like the image shown bellow

2 - connect the riffbox to the computer then start riff jtag manager
- connect also your htc sensation motherboard to computer using the usb cable of your mobile

3- setup your jtag manager to work with htc sensation xe like the image below

4- go to JTAG Read/write tab and press Connect & Get ID (on the bottom right)
the jtag should recognize the device

5- goto useful plugins tab and select "eMMC Based FullFlash Image Files Processing Plugin"
- Press activate plugin (bottom right)
a new window will appear

6- on the Source Image file Name: brows your full flash image bin on your htc sensation
7- press repartition eMMC
- now you just rebuild partition table on your device, and your device is fully blank.
8- right click on one of the partition table then select to save all partitions into seperate files (because we don't nedd to reflash all partitions).
9- now to revive the device we need to inject some files into some specific partitions
- here is the partitions that we need to flash

Boot partitions: (Required)
  • DBL (SBL1)
  • SBL2
  • SBL3
  • RPM
  • TZ
  • HBOOT

  • Recovery
  • Boot

  • P5D (PGFS)
  • ID
  • WLAN
  • P76_MISC
  • HTC
  • SPLASH1

how to flash partition seperatly
on the eMMC Plugin window
double click the partition you want to flash until a (+) mark will appear on it
now right click on the partition then select "inject data from file into the "partition target"

now click "flash selected" and wait for the injection of the file (time will vary according to the file size)
repeat this step on all the partition listed above
(avoid to inject data, system partition because the file is too large and it will take lots of hours to do that)

after injecting all partitions listed above, your device is now alive

you can disconnect desolder your device, then reassemble it

power on your device while holding vol- to enter into boot loader

reboot into RUU
fastboot oem rebootRUU
flash a stock ROM immediatlly

now my device is alive ;)

This guide is for reparong a dead phone
And it is better to repare a dead phone with stock files
Thp soldering part is necessary if you dont have the motherboard adapter.

Sent from my HTC Sentation XE
Is a motherboard adapter the same as a charger? and what if I have a charger ? which steps do I skip?

If you have a charger you could put it away from you while doing this operation because it will be useless.
the adapter is for the RIFF BOX JTAG that connects the jtag with the device motherboard
if you dont have the adapter you will connect the device to the JTAG manually by soldering each pin (8 pins total)

here is the htc sensation RIFF BOX adapter

Behind you
I've followed the guide. However, the phone won't power on or charge at all. maybe it's because a lot of time has passed and battery died? I will wait a few hours to see if it charges it.
