I had some time to test Pie implementations today. The Zips in the link you provide seem to be recovery installable zips, however I cant install them since they seem to be designed for another device.
I have been using the latest Arrow today too. I used a much longer workaround, never thought to use LOS vendor. I will test using LOS.Nonetheless I have had a ice surprise with the new ArrowOS Pie GSI 2018.09.23. It is fast, stable and everything I have tested was working fine. I will use it for a while next week using boot and vendor from official LOS15.1. The steps I have done today:
Yeah the links I provided have to be converted. It's just to update how fast things go. If someone wants a converted one, just askI had some time to test Pie implementations today. Nonetheless I have had a nice surprise with the new ArrowOS Pie GSI 2018.09.23. It is fast, stable and everything I have tested was working fine. I will use it for a while next week using boot and vendor from official LOS15.1. The steps I have done today:
Flash TWRP Labs Mod if you do not have it and reboot recovery.
Flash lineage-15.1-20180911-UNOFFICIAL-axon7.zip (don't use NFounf Treble 1.1, it is not as compatible as LOS15.1 If you use NFound Treble 1.1 you'll get the error at boot)
Flash ArrowOS Pie GSI Aonly 2018.09.23
Maximize OS partitions' filesystem (Advanced > Oki Labs > Expand OS)
Flash Gapps ARM64/9.0/micro
Flash Magisk 17.2
The dark skin works, even in the nice deep black AMOLED mode, even the notifications are dark. I'd like to remove the round corners, but it seems that Pie will have that vintage look of the '80. By the way, the latest Benzo is also very stable and feature rich. I love the performance of the Benzo Browser.
Taking into account the development pace, it seems that we will be able to switch to Pie as a Daily driver before Halloween.
Thanks for the tips!Flash lineage-15.1-20180911-UNOFFICIAL-axon7.zip (don't use NFounf Treble 1.1, it is not as compatible as LOS15.1 If you use NFound Treble 1.1 you'll get the error at boot)
With vendor from LOS16.0, you will not be able to run Oreo ROMs, but only PIE and higher. Thanks for the tips!
Do you know if there are differences with vendor / boot from LOS 16.0?
Some Pie GSIs won't run on the Pie vendor, but run fine using the Oreo one. It's all a bit trial and error, hence the purpose of this thread. Reading through other users posts in the thread of the Treble ROM you are looking to flash will help give you an idea of which one you should probably use. With vendor from LOS16.0, you will not be able to run Oreo ROMs, but only PIE and higher.

I was on Benzo 0920 and I wanted to try Arrow rom. So, I wiped system, data, vendor, dalvik, cache and I got error 7 on the first step (ie. when flashing lineage-15.1). Is it because my vendor partition format is Nfound's?Flash lineage-15.1-20180911-UNOFFICIAL-axon7.zip.
