OK, I thought, The most important point is the android version and not the hardware.because most exploits work on different hardware, but on the same Android version excellent.

The android version is one of the most important things with rooting, however just because two (or more) devices from the same company it doesn't mean that the firmware (software) is built the same.

Hi everyone :)

I have rooted my Sony Z1C long ago, but now I have a Sony Z5. Not the best choice, but the only one I had.
Now I need ROOT for many things I cant do at the moment. Here is my plan:

1) Unlock bootloader - warranty lost :(

as you're german, in the case of warranty you have to differ between warranty given by law ("gewährleistung") and warranty given by manufacturer ("[hersteller]garantie").

as far as i understood the articles i've read so far, warranty given by law ist NOT lost, unless the manufacturer/seller can prove that unlocking the bootloader is the cause for the demage/failure. e. g. if the bootloader is unlocked, and the headphone jack is worn out, they can't deny warranty -> why should unlocking the bootloader (software) demage the hardware of the jack?

Hi guys!
Is it possible to use a vulnerability CVE-2016-0728 for getting ROOT on sony M,Z,C 5?
Maybe there are experts who will create an exploit using this vulnerability? Vulnerability working on kernel 3.8 - 4.5, we have 3.10 (M5)
Please spread the message about thise vulnerability.

What do you mean by Autostarts ?
(If you can't explain it in english, do it in french as we're both)

I meant startup apps management, disabeling those which autostart at boot.

Any of you guys also having troubles with Titanium Backup saying it can't use ext SD as saving location "folder not writable" ? This is driving me nuts ;) Thx yall

To manage apps startups I use All-in-the-box toolbox. It works without root.

I mean no offence but there are some very smart guys looking at this issue. If kingroot worked, we'd know about it already. The first step in trying to exploit a new device is to try all the existing known techniques.

I fixed the Ext SD 3rd party apps writing issue by changing permissions in platform.xml (see thread in Sony cross development themes and apps) if that can help anyone in the future.

Actually yes it does but that's because of the oxdex rom. You can find on google a tutorial how to make the camera works again (Actually I found it once and never found it again, and not for the Z5)
So indeed it mess the camera but that can be fixed idk how. If you can't resolve it you'll still be able to remove Xposed :/

Indeed there's a tutorial here made by Androplus but I guess I am too lazy to do the whole thing..:cyclops:
