Obviously, inb4 we already tried it, thousands of talented developpers work on Android everyday, if it was an awnser to the problem, we'd already used it :)

Z5 got me crazy. Sold it and bought back a Nexus 5 2013. I won't update this topic unless you send me what's new in the Z5 community.

Excuse my stupid question, but have people tried other Sony Xperia rooting tools, for 5.1?

That would be the obvious starting point, as if Sony left a weakness in one 5.1 ROM, the same weakness may be in the Z5 ROM.

I'm sure it has all been tried, but itching to root without bootloader unlock, and I haven't even got my phone yet.

Now we have temporary root is it possible to block dm-varity at system level like via init.d script that runs at boot or something @zxz0O0
Someone who get it, could write a new thread with a how to for the noobs??. Step by step with temp root and then unlock the bootloader and how relock and restore drm Keys and TA partition.
The original post is in z5c forum I think so... Maybe some Z5 users don't see it.

Very short guide

What you need:
-LP stock ROM for your region
-MM stock ROM for your region
-Flashtool with drivers
-ADB drivers
-AndroPlus kernel
-iovyroot
-latest TWRP
-latest SuperSU beta
-drmrestore.zip

1. If you are on MM then you have to flash LP 32.0.A.6.152 or 32.0.A.6.200
2. After flash boot your phone, do basic settings, enable developer options, USB debugging ON, Enable OEM unlock in developer options
3. Do TAbackup using iovyroot follow guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/crossdevice-dev/sony/iovyroot-temp-root-tool-t3349597
4. Unlock bootloader (flashtool), flash MM ROM (flashtool), flash AndroPlus kernel (flashtool or ADB), flash latest recovery (flashtool or ADB), flash root (TWRP), flash DRM restore keys (TWRP) all do following this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z5/general/guide-sony-xperia-z5-unlock-root-tweaks-t3298224
5. Now your device is rooted with latest MM ROM and with nice kernel, offcourse you can flash other rom or kernel (if present).
6. If You want relock bootloader and backup TApartition, flash stock MM ROM (flashtool or ADB), use tarestore.bat from iovyroot - follow instructions in this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=66141410&postcount=2

If i missed something please correct me. Regards, Jack

Thank you for the steps. I think that the problem is that your explanation will be lose in the thread with the time.... If there is a thread with this in the first post this information doesn't lose.

Still waiting for secure root

I won´t buy this wonderfull phone until there is a secure rooting method that doesn´t void warranty (wich is part of the price you pay fo r!! )

I can´t understand why Sony is loosing sales by this reason , I´m sure of not being the only one thinking like this.....$??

Might sound stupid but why do I have to oem unlock before the TAbackup? Isn't oem unlock removing ta keys?

OEM unlock is just a setting the real thing is the actual unlock process (where you input your unlock code etc) and I think that's when you lose your DRM keys. So don't worry about checking that setting as long as you don't go any further but if you check that setting your "FindMyPhone" functions won't work until you uncheck it.

I'm considering to replace my Z2 with a Z5... It seems Z5 root process is a lot more complicated ?

Which features will I lost when rooting Xperia Z5 by those methods?
