ok for almost a year i've tried to use sunshine and it kept saying i was using a incompatible version of the os (49) so i waited till they released updates to sunshine nothing then running something else it said my system was corrupted. i did a system restore tried sunshine and it got to the payment windows and i had to stop and use my phone then later i forgot to disable script blocking rerunning sunshine it fails and after contacting Beaups he tells me i'm banned from using the app that it has been modded and cant use it so I say F it F them for charging and NEVER BUY A CARRIER PHONE!!!
i'm going to save up and buy a dev phone
TLDR - guy fails trying to crack SunShine, gets butthurt when device is banned.
Yes, his other posts are very hackish. These two below are about an AT&T update, and while there's nothing wrong about them, it shows he might investigate/attempt something like that on the Sunshine apk just to see if he could?
i found the update file itself in the cache folder i didnt update before looking after the third fail and found the odex files in the update itself failing not our phone i even tried to mod the update to skip the amdupdate*.* files in the zip file and it checks to see if the file has been changed i beleave the file on their server is bad and not us - i think i have a copy on my phone yet if someone wants to play with it
the odex files are actually in the update file itself i opened the file and found them hiding there - side note do not update after downloading the fota (rooted only) got to cache and the update file resides there to open it rename it with a .zip however every time i tried to mod the file it would fail a self check

@hellrazer1976, you don't necessarily need a "dev phone" to unlock bootloader/and or root, install custom ROMs.
Look here on XDA. There are TONS of carrier phones on XDA!
Plus, many phones like LG don't require a bootloader to be unlocked to root and install ROMs (at least the AT&T versions don't). Or many carrier phones are already unlocked or bootloader unlocked on request by the manufacturer. (It's Verizon that prevents Motorola from doing that.) And there are unlocked carrier phones from other countries (like Canada, etc) that can be used on AT&T and T-mobile, and are easily rooted/custom ROMs installed. Plenty of options.
You can buy a "carrier" phone -- just don't buy a VERIZON phone. Anyone who buys a Verizon phone knows what they are getting -- or should. Long known Verizon strongly locks down their bootloaders.
Thanks to devs like Sunshine team, they provide ways to Verizon phone owners to join the XDA community. But there are other choices besides Verizon phones, even if you need to stay on Verizon.
But first, let's talk about leaving control-freak Verizon...
1) Since you posted about
AT&T you easily buy AT&T-branded phones like LG G3, LG G4. Those phones can be rooted, TWRP installed, custom ROMS all without unlocking the bootloader.
2) Many
T-mobile phones have
unlocked bootloaders, and they have LTE bands totally compatible not only with T-mobile but also AT&T (due to roaming agreements).
3) You can buy network unlocked phones from other countries, use them on AT&T and partake of all the goodies here on XDA.
I own three Moto XT1225, the "international" version of the Droid Turbo XT1254. Bought 2 of them on eBay from Puerto Rico (Claro phones, but network unlocked by the dealer) and 1 through help of an XDA member in Mexico ("factory" phone straight off Motorola Mexico website; he re-shipped it to me). Bootloader easily unlocked, for free with code from Motorola. The XT1225 has LTE bands 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 17 -- plus tons of HSPA bands.
Same exact hardware as the 64GB Droid Turbo, but perfect AT&T phone (AT&T uses LTE bands 2, 4, 5, 17).
The XT1225 and the XT1250 (exact clone of the XT1254, including same FCC ID and all Verizon radio bands) both have
free bootloader unlock via code given by Motorola.
Now for people who need phones that work on Verizon...
For people who are stuck on Verizon due to geography, and can't use AT&T or T-mobile, then yeah your options are more limited. You can buy phones like the Moto XT1250 U.S. Moto Maxx, which work on Verizon. But they are not always easy to find on Swappa, eBay, Amazon. A few months ago Jet and Amazon was selling them by the truckload, but I haven't seen them in awhile.
After that, they yeah there's the "dev" phones like Google's Nexus and Pixel and some limited Motorola phones.
