Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra
Hello there, I'm using a 100w baseus charger, and I cannot use a cable with an e-marker chip to charge the s23 ultra.
This charger can only output 5 amps at 20v, but anything less than that it can output only 3 amps.
So the problem is that when i use an 100w capable cable, the phone tries to take in 4.5 Amps at 10v, which resets the charger.
The charger is constantly resetting itself when using a 100w capable cable.
I've found a workaround by using the included type c cable, which is not 100w capable, it charges the phone at around 30w without resetting the charger.
Fastest i could charge with a type A to type c cable was around 9w.
My cable and charger are not faulty, these can supply 100w continously without any problems, i've checked many times before.

So then we also have different behavior. Are you talking about charging your phone alone though? My 100w cables don't make my charger reset. Well, they do but only when you plug in any of them. Can you maybe post a video like I did?

Phone charging alone, with no other devices plugged in.
I can tell you what is happening, no filming needed:
When I connect the phone to the charger using a 100w capable cable, i watch the power rise on the cable or the charge current on aida64, at some point it goes over 30w or 6.2 amps in aida64, and it resets, climbing from 5w to reset again. (This only happens when the phone is discharged and tries to charge faster than 30w)
I'm using this charger.

With this cable. (P.S. This cable's end is too thick to use with a case)

I'm using the same cable but with this charger:

USB C Charger, Baseus 100W PD GaN3 Fast Wall Charger Block, 4-Ports [2USB-C + 2USB] Charging Station with 5ft AC Cable for Steam Deck,MacBook Pro/Air, USB-C Laptop, iPhone 13, Samsung Galaxy, etc https://a.co/d/aZgkI7K

I don't experience that same behavior.

Basesus Gan 5 pro has 2 type C port+1 type A port.
Charging my S23 Ultra only need 1 type C port.

My charger is normal, don't need two port charging at the same time.
You don't seem to understand the issue then. I never said the S23 Ultra needs two ports to charge. I mean, which phone does?

The issue is that the phone does not charge with the sfc 2.0 protocol when OTHER devices are plugged in the same charger. Why did you buy a multi-port prt charger anyway? I'm sure it's for the same reason that you want to charge multiple devices SIMULTANEOUSLY.

Can you just test your charger and see if it charges your S23 Ultra with sfc 2.0 if another device is plugged in the same charger?

see the image.

we are different at charging..

aukey 6 port charging.
ugreen type c to c 1 port 30 watt.
samsung original type c to c 1 port 25 watt.
basesus gan5 pro 3 port 65 watt.

your problem is not my problem with basesus 65 watt SFC 2.0 for my samsung s23 ultra.

clear?

i don't need to test it.
I have a very sufficient port charger.

iqoo cooler fan.
baseus wireless charging.
samsung galaxy watch 5.
dji osmo mobile 6.
bose soundlink flex bluetooh speaker.

No, still not clear. Answer this question.

If you charge your s23 ultra AND another device at the same time on the BaseUS, will the phone charge at sfc 2.0?

Crikey, life's too short to be obsessing about charging speeds....:LOL:
I'm not. I'm obsessing about the feature that was supposedly design for the very expensive phone that I bought. I'm an engineer. When something doesn't work when they're supposed to, I get agitated. If you don't care about any of the technical specs of a phone you're using, so be it. To each his own.

Sorry for bumping this 2-month old thread. I'll be getting my BaseUS Gan5 65W charger as mentioned here in a few days, I'll test it first with my s23 ultra if it charges at SFC2.0. Then I'll test it with both my s23u and my wife's s22u simultaneously to see if there'll be a difference.

Yeah, I can assure you that it won't work (only charges at sfc 1.0) when you charge more than one device. I have been talking with a BaseUS technical engineer and they confirmed that it is really designed this way and they can't do anything about it. They are giving me a compensation as a workaround.

Yup, doesn't work. I have 65 w and 100 w. Here is the breakdown

in 65w , it can Superfast charge (25w) two devises at the same time ONLY if the device does NOT SUPPORT 45W, i,e, 2 S20 fe phones or 2 galaxy watch 5 chargers.

If you plug in S23 ultra, it will charge SC2.0 and the other port will just fast charge any other device you plus in at 15 watts, not supercharge.

Do you have the same issue with the 100W version? In my case, it will only sc 2.0 charge my s23+ when it is the only one plugged in the charger. As soon as you plug in any device, it will downgrade the s23+ charging to sc 1.0. From what you described, it looks like your 65w charger charges your s23 ultra at sc 2.0 even though other devices are plugged in.

My 100 watt is one USB-C and the other USB-A , so I never get around using the other port for anything over 15 watt anyway. But strangely, the 100 watt is not as consistent as the 65watt. Most times, it keeps resetting and charges at 1.0 and I have to reset it by unplugging. 65 Watt doesn't have this issue.

Just get the Samsung 2.0 Chargers.
I wasted a lot of money on Belkin, Baseus and Anker testing out things.
Ok, I see what you mean. At least your 65W work with sfc 2.0 every time. I think the 65W version is a newer design that's why it is working. I only need one sfc 2.0 port, to be honest.

For anyone interested, here's the testing video provided by the BaseUS support engineers themselves: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1f7_6Yc6N3KYoWXcEDIjqggu0ec12VwkJ/view

You can compare your adapter and cable with these values.

This is my personal experience with mcdodo 100w cable and Samsung 45W adapter. (S23 Ultra SM-918B)

%0-%20 = 9200mA/h = 52W (8700mA/h speed = 48W with Samsung 65W adapter) (really interesting..)

%20-%60 = 7500 mA/h = 43W (sometimes it is capped around %35 percent by 36W which is equal to 6300 mA/h)

%60-%85 = 4300 mA/h = 25W

%85-%90 = 4300>2800 mA/h = 24>16W

%90-%95 = 2800>1900 mA/h = 16W>11W

%95-%100 =1900>950 mA/h = 11W>6W

After %100 percent 950mA/h speed buffers constantly.

Watt measurement is read on mcdodo cable display (not on devcheck!!)

mA/h is read by devcheck and cpufloat.

mA/h means charge speed.

For the benefit of everyone, I tried out the newer 3 usb-c/1 usb-a 100W version of the SlimQ charger that @xgerryx recommended (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BQLZQNMM?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details) and my problems went away! Their support is top notch too. What's nice about this charger is that renegotiation will not happen as long as the total power draw from the charger is less than 100W. They call this "Reset-free Power Allocation". So I can charge my S23+, my Lenovo laptop, and my Galaxy Watch 5 at the same time without them affecting one another.

I don't understand why this is not a standard though. Why can't other bigger companies like BaseUS do it this way?

S23 Ultra requires 10v 4.5 amp to achieve 45 w charging . Charger and Cable both should be capable of 5 amp current capacity and Charger should support PD 3.0 with PPS at 5 amp that is the basic requirement, Cable should have a e-marker chip to identify it as having 5 amp capacity to the charger. usually such cables have 5 amp written on the USB C port and are visibly thicker than the normal 3 amp cables .
