Hi Tomsgt,
A big thank you for your new super tool for 4.4.2 Kit Kat.
I can confirm it works on the english version of the tegra note the Advent Vega.
Thanks again
drc.

you can apply the ota with stock recovery put the ota on your external card and then in stock recovery select apply update from ext sd card. testing new super tool now. ran into some snags with restoring system i am looking into it.
I'd like to downgrade from KitKat to Jelly bean. Is it possible to flash the last firmware update (tegranote_7_android_4.3_mr2_update_gms__4.3) using the stock recovery? When I try to do so (with the update on the external SD card) it fails giving the reason "assert failed: getprop("ro.product.device")......Error in /tmp/sideload/package.zip (status 7)

down load super tool version 1.5 and click restore this will restore 4.3 to the device. I have tested this and it does work.

sorry for the dumb questions, but I am trying to root my tegra note since 4.4 broke it. (sd card)

Anyway, I start your tool and do option 1, it brings up the bootloader screen on the tablet. I do not have an "unlock" or "don't unlock" options. My tablet says,

continue
fastboot protocol
recovery kernal
reboot
poweroff.

then your unlocker tool just sits there saying < waiting for device >

So I am wondering what I am missing, or what I need to highlight and do at this point?

Thanks,

Brew

Thanks very much indeed.

I might just root my Note and be done with it now. I've been trying to break the habit of rooting/flashing custom recoveries then flashing a thousand ROMs a week with this device, but the latest "update" from Nvidia is the final straw for me - I need to be able to write to the MicroSD card.

Have you tried editing the platform.xml to fix the problem, like this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2617921. If it works I might be persuaded to keep KitKat even if Modern Combat 3 doesn't work ;) Or I may go all the way back to 4.2.2!!!

your fastboot drivers are not installed. leave tablet on that screen and close tool then restart tool. go to driver install option 7 in the tool to get the fastboot drivers installed

You don't say, what your problem is..

Platform.xml has already read/write to SD card ???

I just tried rooting the latest 4.4.2 firmware using Tomsgt's Super Tool and then set abut trying to "fix" the SD card write problem. In short, I followed the instructions in the thread over here, so credit to the OP of that http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2617921

After rooting I used ES File Explorer. Before you can do anything, in ES File explorer turn on Root Explorer in the side menu by tapping the button next to that entry, then tap on the Root Explorer text itself to enter the options menu for root access. In the menu that pops up tap "Mount R/W" and press the radio button to mount "/system" as RW, then press ok. After that you can follow the instructions to edit the Platform.xml as laid out in the link above. I used ES File Explorer's in built text editor to do this. After you've made the changes to platform.xml, you to set the correct permissions for the file, again using ES File Explorer (long press platform.xml, press the menu button in the bottom right hand corner, then tap properties) change the permissions to rw-r-r-. That should be it, in theory you can now write files to external storage.

If anyone wants 4.4.2 deodex it's on my server :)

sent from my Galaxy Note 3 running HyperDrive.
You work fast :)

I decided to go back to 4.3 in the end even though I managed to get write to SD card to work. Thanks for giving us all Supertool :)

Out of interest, I re-locked the bootloader using the command "fastboot oem lock" via ABD, and although it has indeed locked it again, there is still the warranty void warning in red underneath the lock status. Do you know if there's a way round that? (purely for warranty purposes, given that I'm on my second Note already)

restore

Warning use at your own risk. I have tested this on my own EGVA Nvidia Tegra Note 7 on android 4.4.2 and it works great.

This script has 7 options you can see in this picture
View attachment 2591653
View attachment 2591654
1. unlock bootloader
2. Restore / unbrick device
3. Flash stock android recovery
4. install ClockWorkMod recovery Bat version
5. Twrp recovery place holder if we get it working
6. Root access in recovery with supersu
7. adb and fastboot driver install

this is a pretty easy to use tool just read & follow the steps and it will walk you right through. Hope this is helpful to some noobs out there that dont know how to use android SDK.

Tomsgt has all of the stock roms, to install :)

recommend using a deodex version

This is normal ....
Probably .. you will have to unlock again and flash the bootloader etc from stock 4.3 ...
