+1OP, if you really want this thread to take off, you could collect all the problems&solutions that are mentioned in Quarx's official JB thread... That could be SERIOUSLY useful!![]()
i found this one, take a look at the PS: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=29053084&postcount=1155One more thing, do you guys have Google Now? If you do, where did you get it?
Done in the OP.kur41, maybe you could also link Epsylons CM10 builds. For the moment only for normal defy
I tried that once on 21-7, then I reboot to bootmenu, wipe data/factory reset, wipe all caches, wipe battery, install the 22-7 again, then it finally works.Hi, I hope someone can help me. I´m on a Defy red lense GB kernel with the last quarcx (22-7). It suddenly crash so I´ve got to reboot. After that the status bar is missing, I tried wiping but nothing hapenned. I reinstalled the rom and wiped and nothing. My status bar and notification drawer missing. What can I do? Thanx!
I wasn't having a "buttery experience" until I ran V6 Supercharger. After that, it's all wonders. Ultra fast response on menus, app drawer, home screen, and games are running perfectly (using Apex Launcher, btw).I noticed several people saying the UI seemed very quick and smooth, but compared to CM9 after HWA was enabled, JB seems to have a lot of lag. Everything works great, but I was wondering if there's anything to be done to get that buttery experience like ICS.
the volume issue seems already addressed by quarx, just wait for today's buildI wasn't having a "buttery experience" until I ran V6 Supercharger. After that, it's all wonders. Ultra fast response on menus, app drawer, home screen, and games are running perfectly (using Apex Launcher, btw).
On a side note, I'm having problems with volume controls on 20/07. When playing music, if I change media volume I have to pause the music, and play again so changes come into effect.
Also, even though I set my ringtone and alarm volume to max, they won't ring at all, or will ring with really low volume. After just changing the volume and givint it a try, it will work wonderfully, but after a while, it seems the volume resets itself.
Anyone else having that issue, or found a workaround?
Quarx's updated his OP and fixed the volume bug. I found ICS really smooth especially after we got full HWA enabled. Obviously hardware acceleration is working in JB, so I guess it's just a matter of optimization.I wasn't having a "buttery experience" until I ran V6 Supercharger. After that, it's all wonders. thanks for the review. i think i'll give today's build a try. cross your fingers as i'm doing it the first time on my defy+A quick review...
After trying many ICS builds by both Epsy and Quarx over the last few months, i found the 14.07 Epsy Defy build to be the most stable, most efficient and very fast, especially after supercharging the rom.. I had about 30 apps installed (Apex launcher being the main one) and a few games, it didnt seem to slow the rom down a bit, imho the best CM9 for my Defy at least..
Now i'm testing CM10 and after trying Quarx 2207 Defy+ build, i thought i could try one of the Epsy's builds (2207 Defy) for comparison.. Didn't realy notice the difference between the 2 builds, besides the slow boot-animation on Quarx build (which is a known thing). Both builds seem fluent and smooth, maybe Quarx's build seems a bit more "buttery" - but againg it may be just my imagination. I did notice that volume slider isn't funcional on both builds unless u press pause before changing the volume, also the camera app stops the screen from registering touches the first time i change the resolution (lets say from 5Mp to 4Mp Wide or 3Mp). I realized (as someone already explained in one of the previous posts i think) u just have to lock the phone, wait a sec or two - press the unlock key and wait for another sec or two for it to unlock, after that the camera works like it should.. Video rec working fine (noticed some stuttering) at least on my phone, to be honest i didn't record more than a minute or so... Panorama works too. There is 1 more thing i noticed (not sure if it is a rom related bug or something to do with the drivers) with the camera. After i changed the res to 4Mp wide, preview picture was quite smaller than the one on 5Mp, but when i took 1 random picture, swiped a few times to the right to see some pictures and than went back (swiped left) to the camera, preview was bigger and the camera angle was wider, hmm... I noticed that on both roms. One more thing happend on Epsy build, i get an error message when i try to enter Automatic backlight setting (System settings > Display > Automatic backlight). It just says: "Unfortunately, Settings has stopped." The hardware buttons are not working like they should and besides that, that's about all i noticed in the short time i spent playing with both roms. I didn't actually try to supercharge CM10 yet, cuz i heard someone report a mega lagg after running the script, but i just may try it today
Quarx & Epsy thank you for your hard work, it is very much appreciated! Keep it up guys! :good:
