To followup my own post with screenshots of my battery use and my settings.Very good battery usage and bad at the same time (quarkx 02/11)
Summary:
- At home I have a good battery lifetime with Quarkx CM10 releases since August. During the night about 5% loss, Wifi off, 2G.
- When I installed 1102 and got to work battery became warm and lost 60% in 5 hours.
NoI would like to figure out which SBF version was originally installed on my phone, because it seems to be safe to have it on a piece of paper in case one of these 2ndboot builds messes up things.
I came from stock to 7.2 quarx, then cm10 quarx's 2nd boot 4.1.2 roms.
I've never flased and sbf so far, is there a way to tell what was its original stock version?
Check the '[JB] CM10 Android 4.1.2 for the Defy(+)' thread.no changelog for 17nov build?![]()
What's your installation processJust installed 11.17 2ndboot defy(+) build.
Installed fine, but now the phone is booting and it won't get past the red Motorola logo.
The phone isn't even getting to the blue LED, so I can't even access the bootmenu.
I'm just going to leave the phone for 10 minutes, see if anything changes.
Anyone else getting a problem like this?
Flash rom, reboot. What's your installation process

Wipe cache / dalvik is heavily recomended as it removes all possible bugs.Flash rom, reboot.
No data or cache wipe whatsoever.
It has worked every time so far with Quarx's 2ndboot builds.
I will, thanks.Wipe cache / dalvik is heavily recomended as it removes all possible bugs.
Please wipe cache and dalvik and post again the result

Reflash SBF, and in the future wipe dalvik and cacheI will, thanks.
However I can't even get to that stage.
You may notice when the Defy boots, you get a bright red Motorola logo, followed by a dimming of the screen then the blue LED.
The phone won't even reach that stage. Do I have to use ADB in some way?
I installed the Motorola driversReflash SBF, and in the future wipe dalvik and cache

Probably idiot question, but have you turned it on in bootloader mode?I installed the Motorola drivers
I installed RSD Lite
I plugged phone into PC, turned off.
Phone automatically turned on.
I opened RSD, found downloaded SBF file.
Unzipped
Opened file in RSD Lite
My phone isn't showing up.
I've tried turning it off, back on, unplugging, plugging back in...
What should I do?
Thanks for everything so far by the way, it's really appreciated.
It's not an idiot question, I feel like the idiot.Probably idiot question, but have you turned it on in bootloader mode?
Turn the phone off. It's not an idiot question, I feel like the idiot.
Do you mean the phone in bootloader mode? I can't get access to the bootloader in the phone.
If you mean the RSD application, I don't know how you do that.
Sorry...
Thank you so much!Turn the phone off.
Then hold down the power button+ vol+ button

This. It's better to start with the phone not connected (you'll see the message "connect USB data cable" or something like that), then plug it on the computer (the phone will show something like "usb connected"). RSDLite shall recognize it now. If it still doesn't (even with the phone saying it's connected), check device manager on windows (start menu > devices and printers > right click > device manager - "devices and printers" can be acessed through classical control panel if you're running win8) to see if the device started correctly (it'll show a exclamation mark next to the device icon if it doesn't start properly). If it didn't start, unplug and plug it back until it starts, its some driver-related problem, the device doesn't always start as it should.Turn the phone off.
