Good luck.
Hello everyone, I have just signed up and I congratulate those who actively participate in this interesting discussion.
I have read most of the more than 100 pages before to intervene as I do not think I have found an answer to my question that I ask below.
I have a Suzuki Ignis from 2017 so with dated maps and firmware (Europe), in this area Suzuki does not provide free or do-it-yourself updates, absurd!
It is absolutely not my intention to clone maps for profit, I would simply like to update the device I have.
I have excellent technical and computer knowledge (it's my job) so I don't think I have any difficulties with the firmware, a different problem for the navigator's maps.
It is not possible for me to get an SD with modifiable CID and therefore I am forced to buy a new SD with updated maps?
I saw that from the web I can find the contents of the SD updated but I was wondering if I can simply cut (delete) the old files of 2016 (the entire content practically) from my original SD and replace themwith the new ones found on the web.
Or is the famous CID uniquely closely linked to the file group of the original SD and if I replace the files with new ones, I make the navigator unusable?
I don't know if I was clear enough...
I thank in advance those who can provide me with clarifications on the matter...
Ringrazio anticipatamente chi potrà fornirmi chiarimenti in merito...
Thanks mauriciomatos, now everything is clearYou can't use the SD card with the old maps and simply copy the new maps to that card. You really need to buy an SD card with changeable CID or buy one pre programmed with the required CID.
Or...you can just do like I and many others do. Just buy the SD card with the most recent maps on eBay for 30 euros or so.
No, unfortunately no.View attachment 5611689
One question: I am a loving user of the TomTom (app Go for Android) which shows the speed limits and warns you when you exceed them and real instant speed (see attached photo).
Since the integrated navigator in the car is very convenient for use, I would like to be able to view these data, is there the possibility of seeing them also on SLDA?
I have not found a way to make them appear...
Hello Zabo64,No, unfortunately no.
It would need a major upgrade of the nav section from Bosch, which I doubt they will ever deliver.
You can only view this data through Android Auto applications (with cell connected to the car and to the net).
I have no such entry in my slda menu...Hello Zabo64,
there is something, however, that I do not understand ...
I downloaded the manual and it looks like you can select to show speed limits!
Am I consulting a non-EU manual?
The same possibility exists in the manual in Italian (I write from Italy) with also the example screens while in the manual in English the procedure is described but there are no relative screens.
Should the FW of the SLDA be updated?
I have the original one of the car (registered in 2017: Software Version 1810.2_161007) ...
Si ho installato i POI con l'avviso ma è veramente poco visibile e il suono brevissimo.
this menu is only available in older Suzuki vehicles without traffic sign recognition functionality. For example my Vitara (2015) has this menu entry.
but my 2017 IGNIS has no traffic sign recognition functionality ...this menu is only available in older Suzuki vehicles without traffic sign recognition functionality. For example my Vitara (2015) has this menu entry.
I don't see how this is possible, sw updates are all the same...this menu is only available in older Suzuki vehicles without traffic sign recognition functionality. For example my Vitara (2015) has this menu entry.
Hi to all,
I am one of those who read almost all the hundred pages of this thread, but I found no solution to my issue.
I read that many just downloaded the firmware from the BOSCH website (currently 1790 is the latest suitable for Suzuki Baleno 2016 model for European market, is that correct?), extracted to a USB pendrive (FAT32 file system) and plugged it into the USB slot of the car, but this does not work for me.
Someone wrote that the above is just the source code, not installable because it should be compiled first and in that case I do hope you may want to help me compile that source code, if needed in order to install the updated version. I wish I will not be obliged to download the SLDA_SOP9 available from web for two reasons: I should trust the owner of that file but most of all I do want to learn how to do it by myself.
I do have some programming skills and I do know how to compile a software written in C/C++ when a makefile is present, but I see no makefile in the above source code.
Meanwhile, this is what I get when I unpack the source files

What should I do next?
Thanks.
Regards.
Thank you so much for your reply. Actually the BOSCH website mentions that version numbers starting with 18xx are for cars produced in Hungary while those starting with 17xx are for cars produced in India. My car is not produced in Hungary, but in India, despite it's for European market. You have all your information wrong
If you want the European version of the SLDA firmware, it's 1890 and not 1790. You will find it somewhere on this thread. The new versions are always shared here when someone has access to it. The stuff on Bosch website is indeed the source code and it's completely useless to us.

As you say, this interpretation is not correct, also considering that my infotainment has always had version numbers starting with 18xx (I had the service guys update the software a couple of time while the car was in the warranty period).
Last but not the least, is it possible to get the instruction to compile the software by ourselves?
The 2022 map SD card on the market now .I've heard that Bosch is no longer updating new maps for Suzuki this year.
Are you sure? I live in Belgium and they told me that for Europe it is 1890.Hello, I have the same problem, we need 1790 Version and this is 1890
This post is one of the nearest to the clue... for CID "encoding" inside map files.SLDA Maps
I noticed that there is a file called "SDX_META.DAT" which is located in 2 locations CRYPTNAV\PROGRAM and CRYPTNAV\DATA\DATA\MISC (both files are identical).
Somehow these SDX_META.DAT files verify the CID of each card.
I guess if somebody knows a way like reverse engineering, maybe there is way to create these SDX_META.DAT files based on the CID of each sd card.
So instead of changing the CID which requires specific sd cards and hardware we can just change this file according to the specific CID of existing sd cards.
... as i said, it's very strange for 4 years NOBODY find a "solution" to hack and encode an SD for maps... in times where also a refrigerator is hackedI did a lot of research around this topic and I don't think there is a way to clone SLDA cards without changing the CID. It would be ideal if there were a keygen that would be able to create the SDX_META.DAT file based on the CID number of each card but till now we are far from this.
Not a good idea at all for real!!! Skip it...This can be done with some linux commands that can be inserted to Bosch with a USB flash drive like firmware updates. But unfortunately I've not tested this myself till now, plus the risk of destroying the system which does not seem a good idea.
We did not believe you unless you share the content with us! (evil grin)Today I received a small package that I have been waiting for a long time and surprise. For those who don't believe Suzuki SLDA 2021 SD card exist, here are some pictures. They are real sd2-Suzuki-SLN_EUR_2021 v1.
Map files are from 10.09.20
